As she said those words, I chocked on air. I quite literally really chocked on air, so the whole class stared at me as I nearly coughed all the life out of me.
"Holy fucking shit," I thought to myself, as the puzzle pieces fit into place.
Jackson was sad over a girl because she hooked up with someone.
Lily hooked up with someone that exact night.
Lily was the girl.
I stared at her, blinking away the remaining tears in my eyes and said, "Did you ever date Jackson Young?"
Her reaction was priceless. She went from nearly laughing her ass off at my little chocking moment, to complete and utter guilt.
At that point, it was all too obvious.
"Eh no! Why are you asking me this? You know I hate him," She stated, avoiding proper eye contact with me and then added, "I would have told you."
I rolled my eyes. "Sure, sure you would have. You didn't even tell me that you broke up with Leo till I asked you, myself!"
Leo was her ex- boyfriend. They dated for 4 months before they called it quits but it's still unknown to me why they ended it.
He really liked her, yet she didn't even seem upset.
"Why are you acting like this? You're absolutely ridiculous, Jackson is definitely rubbing off on you." Lily snapped, as I looked at her in shock.
"Fine, don't answer my question," I stated. "But I think you should know that whatever you did last night with some guy, Jackson was pissed over it."
That must have pulled a nerve. She looked at me and stormed out of class, slamming the door shut. The teacher looked baffled, confused, but then went back to whatever he was doing.
He didn't really care.
I wasn't being ridiculous. I knew from her reaction that she was lying to me, she was hiding the truth. To be fair, she was the ridiculous one for storming out of class.
I pulled out my phone under the desk, and swiped through my contacts till one caught my eye.
To Jackson Young: we need to talk.

it's short but don't worry, it's meant to be.
