Bang.

"Stop shouting at me!"

Bang.

"You're the one shouting,"

Bang.

"No, you are!"

Bang.

"Calm down, honey, please."

Bang.

"How can I be calm when I saw you with another woman?"

Bang.

"It was just for work! Please, I love you,"

Bang.

"I've had enough of this."

Bang.

By the time the argument ended, my head was killing me from hitting it against the wall for what felt like hours. I was scrunched up on my bed, leaning against the wall as the screaming match finally ended. My parents were screaming at each other for over an hour, over the fact that one of them was caught cheating.

Apparently.

I didn't know whether to believe her, my mother. I didn't think my dad was one to cheat as he seemed perfectly in love with her, but they have drifted apart dramatically.

It was obvious to everyone.

The loudest bang however, was my mom storming out of the house. At that point I realised, it was all serious.

It was really happening.

I walked downstairs to see what was going on only to see my dad in tears. I have never seen him so vulnerable and by instinct, I wrapped my arms around him.

"Just tell her you didn't," I said, "You have to keep on telling her that till she knows you're being truthful."

He breaks away from the hug, looking into my eyes. "But I did, Ava. That's the problem. I just don't want to lose her," He cried.

"Oh shit," I blurted out. "Shit, how could you?"

"I was drunk and things got out of control.. I never would have done it if I was sober," He replied simply.

His excuse was way too similar to Ryan's but I shook off the thought.

"I, I need to go look for her," I replied sternly. "Don't do anything else stupid."

And then, I was gone. I walked through the familiar streets, past the park and everywhere she could have possibly went. Except, she was nowhere to be seen.

I called her what seemed like thousands of times but all I received was an animated reply that didn't even sound like her.

She was friends with Jackson's mum so there was a possibility that she went to their house, but I wasn't certain. For some reason I was too afraid to go and check so I left it till last.

Forty minutes later I had lost all hope that I once had and made my way to the last spot.

I stood in front of the door for a couple of minutes before finally knocking, debating on whether I was doing the right thing. There was a possibility she wasn't even there, so Jackson would have taken that as a sign of daunting me more.

"Ava, hey! I haven't seen you in a while," Jackson's mom smiled.

"Yeah, em, I was wondering if my mom is here?" I asked nervously.
