It's been roughly a month ever since Haley left Anton Zaslavski. He is absolutely devastated and his close friends question his behavior after the split.
Anton and Louisa are friendly to each other. Anton doesn't care much for Louisa's flirting. She misses him, wants him to be a part of her life again and Anton is just not ready.
"Anton, are you okay?" The words that I grew tired of hearing in a month. I wasn't okay but every time they asked me, I told them I was. I lied to them to save my dignity. I couldn't figure out what in Haley's mind made her think this would make me happier and that it would put me in a better place.
There was a soft knock on my door. I despised the thought of someone I would have to talk to is on the other side of the door. I placed my hand on the cold, metal door knob. I turned it and opened my door slowly. Facing me was a smiling Louisa in front of a bright sunny day. "Hey," I faked a smile. "Come on in."
I watched her strut past me in her vintage sandals. She took off her sunglasses and looked me head to toe. "How are you doing?" She asked. I shrugged. "You get the email today?" She asked another question. I shut my door and shook my head, confused.
"Clarity officially went platinum!" She smiled large. I forced another smile and nodded. "I'm glad. It turned out well." Inside, my heart was heavy. That song doing so well should make me happy. But instead it brings back terrible memories and part of me wishes I would've never even made the song possible.
"So, Anton. You won't ask me and I've been patiently waiting and waiting for this so I'm going to ask you instead." I nodded and gulped quietly. "Would you like to go on a date sometime?" I looked into her eyes for a minute. They were full of life, but scared I would reject her offer. Despite the fact I didn't want to, I agreed. She squealed loudly and embraced me into a tight and uncomfortable hug. I wanted to cry.
