"Yes, Anton I'm sorry." I felt his heart break. I felt it crush into a million pieces and I felt like it was all happening between my fingertips. I was guilty. "Anton," Porter begun. "No, I'm fine." He cut him off. He was in deep thought, his eyes away from the both of us.
"Anton," I slowly stepped towards him and placed a hand on his shoulder reassuringly. "LISTEN, I SAID I AM," he cut himself off when he realized he was screaming at me instead of Porter. He stepped back, shrugging my hand off of him. "H-Haley" he whispered weakly. "Anton, I'm so, so, so sorry," I whispered back softly so Porter wouldn't hear me.
"NO. You are not sorry. If you were sorry, you wouldn't have done it! It could've been us forever Haley but then you bring all this shit into my life. All I wanted to do was be a good person and help you and this is what you do? You take my money, you take my kindness, then you take my heart and tear it into pieces. You know what that makes you? A bitch. It makes you a bitch." Anton slowly cried as he went on his emotional breakdown. I tried to calm him down but there was no use. I watched him run out of the house and to his car frantically. He got in and drove away. I sighed.
"This isn't okay," I said softly. "I don't feel good."
"I don't either," Porter choked out. I knew he wanted to cry, he just wanted to keep it in at the same time. That was his best friend we both crushed. I cried.
"It'll be okay," Porter brought me into a hug from the side. I pulled away from his hug. I wasn't in the mood. "But what if it isn't? What if he's not okay?" I tried to contain myself from screaming like Anton did. "We broke his heart without guns to our heads."
Porter sighed and covered his face with his hands. He never responded to what I said. He didn't know what to say or do. Regret filled the room.
