Louisa officially made Los Angeles her new home. To celebrate, she invited me to her party. I didn't want to go but another week has passed by and I still hadn't found my way out of my house. I fixed my collar and belt, looking into the mirror. I showered and shaved but still looked rough. The dark circles under my eyes were haunting. I put my head down and made my way back into my room.
I laced up both of my dress shoes and I was officially ready to be semi-social. I grabbed a jacket, sighing. Of course this had to be the jacket Haley loved the most out of my closet. I adjusted my Rolex. This was go time. I made my way outside to my car. I typed in Louisa's new address to Google Maps as drove off. The silence in the car was broken ever few seconds with map directions but even then the silence was intimidating. Louisa lived minutes away. Minutes felt like hours as I drove, contemplating.
There were quite a few cars at Louisa's house, forcing me to park in the street. Louisa was already outside ready to greet me at the door. I swallowed. Louisa walked up to me in her six inches heels and party dress, embracing me in a hug. "I'm so glad you could make it." I kissed her cheek friendly and nodded. "I'm glad you invited me," I lied.
Louisa believed my smile and smiled back. She didn't deserve to feel my pain tonight. She took me inside and told me where a few things are. The music was loud, playing some pop song. As we made our way to the living room, people greeted me warmly. I waved at each of them as I passed. I didn't know anyone here.
I sat on the couch next to Louisa, who was talking to all her friends. Every now and then she'd try and tease me and place a hand on mine of rub my thigh slowly. As the night went on, the more she drank while I stayed sober. I didn't want to drink. I didn't want to be at the party anymore. I felt the walls come crashing down on me, suffocating me even more every time Louisa touched me. She wasn't Haley.
