Lucy's POV
After what seemed like an hour, we arrived on the outskirts of a section of the city. There was a small neighborhood where a few kids playing in a front yard but that was about it. Then we drove past it and to an area with a lot of tall buildings scattered across the place.
Natsu drove to a large garage that looked pretty run down. Some parts of the windows were shattered and graffiti decorated the outside with names of people, gangs, and just some art. We got out and I took in my new surroundings as my driver grumbled something incoherently.
Though the area was desolated it didn't really escape that city air everyone had grown accustomed too. Police sirens were heard in the distance and there was someone shouting about something.
"C'mon," Natsu called and I noticed I was still at the car while he walked to the door. I walked over as he opened the door and motioned for me to walk through first.
I was immediately hit with the smell of gas and oil. There was a large room where I entered and it was filled with cars, some were hoisted in the air by machines while others were on the floor with their hoods up. People were everywhere, a lot of them were walking in and out through a door that led to another room. Every time they exited they held some kind of car part in their hands, whether is was large or small. They were also fighting over which part they had first and a little fight broke out.
In the left far corner of the large room, there was a smaller room that connected with the far corner. It had a large window and there seemed to be someone behind it but the glass was in a wave design so it was hard to make out who it was.
"Well, this is the garage," Natsu said. He seemed to revert back to his timid nature but he also held himself a confident way. "Everything I know about cars I learned here."
"What's it called?" I asked looking at everything.
"What?" He replied looking at me.
I sighed and repeated the question, "What's your race group called?"
"Oh," he answered and looked at everything, a smile forming. "Fairy Tail."
"Seems like a nice place," I commented.
"Hey!" Someone shouted in annoyance. I turned to my left to see a tall man with orange spiked hair and he had a scar on his left eye. He was shirtless except for a a gray and black coat and green pants. "Someone took my screwdriver again!" Everyone seemed to stop in whatever they were doing and turn their heads to the man.
"Relax Jet!" A woman called. She stepped from behind a car and held out a red handled screwdriver. "You weren't using it so I borrowed it for a minute. I didn't have the right size to fit in a screw." The woman could hardly be called a woman given how short she was. She had short blue hair that had a red band in it. She had a red skirt with dark straps that connected to a top and she was also wearing a golden necklace.
"Levy, tell me next time," the man named Jet said.
"Well, I'm just trying to fix cars here so that you guys can race," Ley informed. "But I can always move to another garage and leave you all." At this threat everyone seemed to beg her to stay and most were yelling at Jet for what he did. During all the yelling Levy looked over to the entrance and spotted me and Natsu. She made a confused face but waved him over. The racer obliged and soon I was standing in front of one of the shortest people I ever saw.
She lead us away from most of the people and towards the back of the garage, "So who's the chick?"
I scoffed, "Excuse me? Who your calling chick shorty?"
