The first time ever I saw your face...

Her mother had practically forced her to attend college with a major in law. It was perfect in Veronica Hastings' mind: She went to law school, her husband, Peter, went to law school, and now their daughter, Spencer, would attend.

It wasn't as perfect in Spencer's mind. She didn't want to go to college in the first place. But after her father had passed away, she vowed to do everything in her power to make her mother happy. All Veronica wanted was for her daughter to be in law school. Spencer figured that she'd try it for a few months, then tell her mother that it wasn't her thing.

The classroom was beginning to fill, so she decided to find her seat quickly. Spencer took her seat, in front of course. As she waited for the professor to begin the first lesson of the day, she began to organize her books and pencils. Once she finished, she saw a man sit next to her. She didn't want to be rude and ask him to move, so she sat there quietly. When she looked up and saw him, she swore that her heart stopped. He was so breathtakingly beautiful. Looking into his eyes was like staring into a perfect blue ocean. His presence automatically calmed her, and all she could imagine was being wrapped in his muscular arms.

"Hi," she said, remembering that she needed to speak, "I'm Spencer."

He smiled, and it was exactly how she pictured it. It was handsome and goofy all at the same time. She could stare at him all day, if he would allow her to. "I'm Toby." He answered. Spencer melted at the sound of his voice. She didn't want to say it too soon, but Spencer could tell that Toby would hold a special place in her heart forever.

...The first time ever I kissed your lips...

He had taken her on their first real date. They had gone out to dinner, went bowling, and saw a movie with a group of their closest mutual friends before, but they hadn't truly been alone together. They had decided to go to dinner once again. Spencer dragged him to her favorite restaurant in town, an old Italian restaurant that her father used to take her to when she was young. The place wasn't that great to either of them, in fact the food was pretty mediocre. But Spencer was close friends with the staff because her father had been a regular customer. And, Toby knew the place meant a lot to Spencer. They laughed, talked, flirted, and everything was so magical. The idea of them being together was so perfect in their minds.

He was kind enough to take her home after a walk in the town center. When they arrived at the door to her apartment, they both felt something similar to a punch in the gut when they realized that they had to leave each other.

"Goodnight," Spencer said, her heart breaking as she let go of his hands.

Toby knew he couldn't end the night like this. Before she got the chance to open the door to her apartment, he leaned in and kissed her.

Suddenly, everything was right in the world. All they could think of, all they could feel, and all they saw was each other. The feeling of their lips pressed together was absolute perfection. Neither of them could put in exact words what it felt like. All they could say was that it was close to being in heaven.

They pulled away, suddenly forced back into reality. "Goodnight," Toby said, the feeling of Spencer's lips still lingering on his.

Spencer was speechless. Her big smile said it all. From that moment, she knew.

This was the start of something perfect.

...The first time ever I lay with you.

"Are you sure you want to do this?" Toby asked, gazing up at his beautiful brunette girlfriend. The couple had been together for two years now, helping each other through thick and thin. Toby had supported Spencer in her decision to leave law school and move on to study teaching. Spencer remained by Toby's side when his mother got extremely ill, and rejoiced with him when she miraculously got better. In two years, Spencer and Toby had seen each other at their best and their worst. So when things finally started to settle down, they decided to finally make love.

"Yes, are you?" Spencer asked, hovering on top of him. It took a while to get it out of each other, but they both admitted to never having sex. The last thing they wanted was to pressure each other into doing something they didn't want to do.

"Of course." Toby said, flipping them over so that he was on top of her. Their lips united once again as Toby took is shirt off, revealing his muscular chest. Spencer followed, taking off her tank top and exposing her black, lacy bra and her toned, flat stomach.

Every other article of clothing they had on found its way onto the floor. Though both of them didn't have any idea as to what they were doing, they knew that what mattered the most was that they were in love. Nothing could separate the two. The sheets covered their bare bodies, which were connected in the most intimate way possible. They were vulnerable, but that didn't matter, because they felt so comfortable with each other.

"I love you so much." He whispered to her, pressing kisses onto her hair. She was his world. She was the one thing in his life that was absolutely, utterly, completely perfect. He wouldn't be the person he is today without her.

"I love you, too." She said. Everything about him was perfect in her eyes. No words could ever explain how much she loved him. Now, she couldn't imagine her life without him.

They were best friends. Lovers. All they needed was each other. Before they met each other, they didn't believe in love. For every second of every day, every morning when they woke up, and every night before they went to sleep, all they could think about was each other. His love for her was more powerful than anyone else's. Her love for him was more intense than any force in the world.

No love had ever been stronger, deeper, or sweeter than theirs. A love like theirs would never go away. It would stay with them for the years to come, until the last days of their lives. Even then, they would still love each other, because their bond was that strong. They would love each other through every darkness, every detriment, every struggle, and every endeavor life would throw at them. At the end of the day, they still chose each other, because they were each other's one and only.
