Disclaimer/My Thoughts On The Finale: I am NOT trying to say that I am a better writer than the PLL writers. I thought the finale was absolutely brilliant and was wonderfully executed, though I wasn't a fan of the "A.D. is Spencer's twin" theory at first. I thought of this alternate ending after I watched this bit of the finale, and I wanted some type of closure as a Spoby shipper. Personally, I am on Troian's side when it comes to Spoby's fate. I can totally see them eloping or just untraditionally dating their entire lives, even if they had children. I feel like no matter what, they'd always find their way back to each other. Even though I feel like them getting back together should've been shown, I'm very pleased with their ending and them being somewhat "endgame" (I hope I'm using that term right), even though some Spoby shippers are not. This is for them!

Two Spencers. Just like everyone else, Toby couldn't tell them apart. It was like he was seeing double, like he was just about to faint. Millions of things were going through his mind, like who he kissed and who he slept with the night before. But what he was the most focused on was trying to figure out which Spencer was his.
"Toby," one of the two said, in a surprisingly calm voice, "remember our first kiss? We spent the night in some dingy motel, you let me wear your shirt, I was jealous because you beat me at Scrabble with the word 'goofball'. I've never been able to forget that day." Her palms were sweating, her head was bleeding, and it felt like her lungs were on fire. But she needed him to know that it was her. She was Spencer, not Alex.
Toby knew, only his Spencer Hastings would know that. Not her insane twin. His gun, which was pointed at Spencer, fell to the ground. He rushed to her, suddenly forgetting all the trouble they were in. He wrapped his arms around her, feeling her soft hair and listening to her quiet sobs, which had become a mixture of joy and fear. It was her. He could feel it now. He noticed that she kissed differently and that she acted differently when they were intimate, and he had just assumed something about her had changed in those three years after they had broken up. But now it all made sense. She had never changed. It was just the wrong girl.
"No!" They heard Aria, Ezra, Hanna, Caleb, Emily, Alison, and Mona scream in unison. Before they could turn around to see what went wrong, they heard the sound of a loud gunshot. Alex had grabbed Toby's gun, hoping to fatally shoot her twin sister, but instead shot the man she had fallen in love with.
Toby was hit with a pain in his lower back, slowly falling to the ground. Spencer, with tears rushing down her face, held on tight to him, not letting him hurt himself even more. Emily and Caleb had grabbed the gun from Alex while Ezra and Mona put her hands behind her back and waited for the police to arrive.
"Oh my god," Aria sobbed, staring at Toby, who was now in Spencer's arms.
"Shh," Spencer said, trying to calm Toby down. He was hyperventilating and he was close to passing out. "I'm right here, just stay with me. Just breathe. You're going to be okay. I have hope."
Toby couldn't take his eyes off of her. Even though she was constantly in a state of stress and anxiety, her presence was always so calming to him. "I once knew a girl who used to say 'hope breeds eternal misery,'"
Spencer flashed a painful smile as tears fell down her face. "That girl has changed."

Spencer laid her head on the arm of Toby's hospital bed, watching him sleep. He looked so peaceful, despite the circumstances. Alison had texted Spencer, letting her know that Alex had been sent back to London and had been checked into a mental facility there. She and the police assured Spencer that Alex would never return to Rosewood, no matter what.
