Since the arrest of Alex Drake, the group of friends found it fairly easy to go back to normal. Hanna and Caleb were happily awaiting the arrival of their baby girl, Aria and Ezra were newlyweds and in the process of adopting a child from the Philippines, and Emily and Alison were happily engaged with their two little girls.

Life was perfect, for everyone except Spencer.

Spencer couldn't seem to forget that she had a long-lost twin, even though everybody wanted her to. She had a sister. Alex was a sister that she could've connected and shared secrets and clothes with, but instead she tried to steal her ex-boyfriend and attempted to kill her and her friends. And Mary, their biological mother, was nowhere to be found.

She tried to ignore the seeping hole in her stomach that formed from all the torment she had been through, but it was too strong. She never meant to, but she shut out the group. She always felt like the sad seventh-wheel, bringing everyone's mood down. She never felt lonely or like she needed someone. She was just tired of everyone in her life disappearing or turning on her.

Diana, a close friend of hers since high school, had asked if her wedding could be at the Lost Woods Resort, as she saw pictures of the newly-renovated motel and fell in love. Spencer, of course, agreed. Lights were hung, tables were set, and it looked like something straight out of a fairytale. All of Spencer's friends had been invited, and from Spencer's perspective, they looked like they were having a great time.

"Spencer, why aren't you dancing? Didn't you bring a date?" Diana asked Spencer. Spencer had been sitting at her table for the majority of the party, mainly watching Lily and Grace when Emily and Alison needed a few minutes alone. But now Alison had taken the girls to their room for bed, and she had no real reason to stay. She only felt obligated to go because she was a bridesmaid.

"You know, I think I'm just going to head home. It's getting late and-" Spencer made up some excuse that she had to be at work in the morning, even though she had no plans. Diana hugged her and said her goodbyes, slightly disappointed.

Spencer began to grab her purse and her coat when she looked up, and he was right in front of her.

Toby Cavanaugh.

"Hi," he said, watching her stop everything she was doing.

"Hey," she said, getting up and hugging him. They hadn't talked since Aria and Ezra's wedding, and he had he had been in Philadelphia for a few weeks, building shelters for homeless veterans. She didn't think he'd be at the wedding, so she was pleasantly surprised.

"Are you heading out?" Toby asked, noticing that Spencer had been packing up her things earlier.

"Well, yeah, I was-"

"Can we at least have one dance? I haven't seen you in weeks,"

Spencer couldn't say no. There was something about his voice that just put her in a trance, or under some love spell. She grabbed his hand and he led her to the floor.

One dance turned into five. They caught up, telling stories of the last few weeks and even made plans for riding that Sunday. She tried not to notice the not-so subtle glances and gasps from their friends. They were just as happy to see them together, even if they were only friends. They loved seeing both of them happy, as they had probably been through the worst out of all of them.

"Look," Hanna said, nudging Caleb and grinning. She had felt the most responsible for Spencer's downfall after her breakup with Caleb. She knew Toby made Spencer happy, and making sure she was happy was the least she could do after Spencer had been put through hell.

Spencer loved being with Toby, more than anything. But she didn't want to get her hopes up. He had lost his wife a year prior, and he had just been used and manipulated by Alex just a few weeks ago. She knew he needed time, but a small part of her worried that he'd find someone else, or that he'd doubt her concern and love for him.

Toby noticed that she seemed distracted. He didn't blame her; she had been through a lot. The least he could do was help her forget for a little while. After a few moments of silence, he decided to speak, "Aren't you going to take me back to your room?"

---

"So, do you have any other plans to travel?" Spencer asked. She was comfortably sat on the bed, while Toby was lying on his side. They had spent the evening catching up some more and playing a Scrabble set that was stored in the lobby.

"I was thinking about heading to the Congo, maybe help build houses and wells. Or maybe India,"

"You have such a big heart. Don't lose that quality. I wish I could do something like that," Spencer said. She admired Toby so much for his desire to help other people. He knew what it was like to have lost everything, and the least he could do was make sure no one else felt that way.

"Who says you can't? Maybe you could come with me," Toby offered, sitting up.

Spencer smiled. If she weren't waist-deep in paperwork, for both law school and her missing mother and sister, she might have taken up his offer. "Maybe," she said, her voice smooth.

As if he was hypnotized, he leaned over and pressed his lips against hers. This had been their first kiss in nearly three years, but everything felt right. The way they kissed was perfectly in-sync. Things were starting to get heated, as Toby was close to unbuckling his belt and loosening his tie. He reached for Spencer's hair, which was tied up in a sophisticated ponytail, hoping to let her hair down.

"Toby," Spencer said against his skin. She didn't want him to feel pressured to kiss her, since he had mistakingly fallen in love with Alex, thinking she was Spencer. She also didn't want him to feel like he needed to be with someone so soon after Yvonne's death. "We shouldn't,"

"You don't have to worry about me, Spence. I want to do this. I love you," Toby said, looking into Spencer's dark brown eyes. He had so much love in his heart meant for those he had lost, so much so that it hurt him. He still loved his mother and Yvonne, and it hurt him knowing that he'd never be able to tell them again. He'd never hold Yvonne again, and he'd never hear his mother's voice again. Spencer was the one person in his life left who cared about him just as much as he cared about her, and he wanted to make sure that she knew.

Spencer stopped running her fingers through Toby's light brown hair to take the game of Scrabble off of the bed. "I love you, too," she said. She began to unbutton Toby's shirt as he unzipped her dress, their lips connecting once more.

Their love was strong and undeniable. Although they had been hurt several times before, they were grateful, because it brought them to each other. Life was easier and more enjoyable with the other. They loved each other through every endeavor, good or bad, and continued to love the other every perfect moment after.
