The neighborhood was just how she left it. It was busy with kids running around in their bikes. The smell of barbecue ribs in the grill was familiar. Someone was always celebrating something. The trees made it look almost like a forest which blocked sunlight from peeking in. The only light Ricky remebered was the vibrant street lights on every corner. The houses looked old though. Like it was an apple that becomes rotten after some time and Ricky never noticed it before. It's when she left and came back, she really realized all the little details about the place she used to call home.

She squinted her eyes trying to remember which house was hers. After all, she hasn't been there for quite sometime and never thought that in a million years she would have to come back. Suddenly, a red and blue light caught her attention. She realized there was an ambulance and police car parked in front of a house. The house wasn't like Ricky remembered. Usually her grandmother would take care of the plants and bushes in front of the house, but it looked like something out of a scary movie.

"Ricky, it's Officer Dylan over there," Sam said with excitement as she pointed towards a young man in a police uniform. "Now that I'm 18, age don't really matter to me anymore."

"Uh...that's gross,"Ciara said.

Ricky didn't bother to engage in the conversation. She just quickly parked the car and ran towards the front yard where she saw reporters and police officers circling around. Ricky squeezed past someone and once she got in the middle, she realized people were watching her grandmother being put on a stretcher. She ran to her grandmother ignoring a police telling her to stay back.

"Grandmother Maple, it's me Ricky!" Ricky shouted as she pushed past a nurse to throw herself onto her grandmother. Maple slowly turned her head trying to ignore her pain and smiled when she saw Ricky. Ricky grabbed Maple by the face and kissed her on the cheeks. She hugged her as Maple ran her fingers through Ricky's hair.

"My girl is back," Maple said faintly.

Ricky was about to reply back to her grandmother when someone pulled her back with a strong grip. Quickly going into survivor mode, she kicked her feet to the person who she couldn't see that had grabbed her. She turned around once the person had let go and fell to the floor. Only to find out it was Officer Dylan.

"Your still a feisty one," he said as he grabbed his spot and slowly got up.

Ricky chuckled a little feeling embarrassed that she used one of her moves she learned on the guy who saved her life.

"What we're you thinking when you grabbed me like that!?" Ricky asked.

"I was thinking, your grandmother needs to go get medical help and you were taking away valuable time that she could be using to recover," Dylan said.

"I know...." Ricky stopped to look at her grandmother being put in an ambulance. She watched as it drove away. "I just couldn't help myself."

"I get it."

"So where's my brother Daniel?"

"He doesn't live with here anymore," Dylan explained. "The boy turned to the streets now. Selling drugs. I caught him a few times but I just ain't say nothing because well....he's your brother. Once we put the boy in jail, your name will be all over the media again. He'll give you a bad reputation. I just couldn't let it happen...especially after what you've been through."

Ricky smiled taking this all in. She wasn't surprised her brother left to do no good. After all, he used to abuse her for goodness sakes. She was especially happy that he didn't hurt her grandmother.

Suddenly a lady with a microphone in her hand followed by a man filming, ran up to Ricky.

"Ricky your back! How does it feel to be back? Have you spoken to Sam? Ciara? Are you and Dylan a thing?"

This was all overwhelming for Ricky. She didn't understand why these people were so interested in her life. She wasn't a celebrity. She was only famous because of her near death experience and it was sick that people loved these stories.

"We don't have to talk to you people," Ricky heard someone say. She turned around to see Sam and Ciara pushing through other reporters who had joined the lady to get to Ricky. The three girls stood in the middle holding onto each other and shaken by all the attention.

"How did you cope with losing your sister Cherry? Ricky, are you the hero?"

"Alright, ladies let's go inside," Dylan said as he pushed the girls to walk towards the door with the reporters following. Once he got them all in, he locked the door and pulled every curtain of every window down to not feed into the reporters.

"I'm sorry ladies this happened for your first night back together," Dylan said. "So if ya'll ready to go home, I'll give you a ride."

Ricky took a seat on the couch followed by Sam and Ciara.

"I'll stay here for the night to watch the place for my grandmother," Ricky said. "Besides, I don't have anywhere else to go and I didn't plan on spending a night here. I was gonna go straight home right after but I guess that idea is out the window."

Dylan looked at the other girls waiting for their answer.

"I don't mind spending the night here with Ricky," Ciara said. "After all our night of reunion was cut short so we need as much time as we can."

"Yeah, I'm gonna stay too," Sam agreed. "I miss my girls anyway."

Dylan sighed knowing it was a bad idea because the reporters might still be on the lawn in the morning too now that they know the three girls are in the house. Things could get a little crazy and the reporters won't never take no for an answer when it comes to their job and selling good stories to the people.

"I guess I have no choice but to stay and supervise," he said as he threw himself on the couch across the girls.

"Well I'm gonna let Richard know that I'm staying for tonight," Ricky said as she slowly got up. "Good night Officer Dylan."

With that, she went upstairs pulling out here phone and starting to dial the number.

"I'm gonna go....give her support," Ciara said making an excuse so she wouldn't have to stay downstairs with Dylan. Sam got up and agreed and followed right behind Ciara up the stairs.

Dylan chuckled to himself, The girls still are following each other like little birds. I suppose nothing changed.
