"Quinn! Where are you going?" I asked but she just kept walking towards the doors.
I stood there with my mouth wide open, I was so confused. What was Quinn doing? And why couldn't she believe she was about to do it?
After a few minutes of standing there just staring at the floor, with my mouth still drawn to the floor, one of the waitresses named Mallory interrupted my trance.
"Miss?" she said.
I looked up at her and noticed that behind the tall waitress was Finn and Santana, giggling together like Finn and I used to.
"Some young gentleman and his girlfriend are here and say they are looking for a girl and her date." Mallory said. "Would you happen to be that girl?"
I waited a few second before I answered, "Yes... That would be me. And... um... my date is on his way."
"Great." she said before turning her attention to Finn. "Sir, I've found the girl your looking for."
Finn looked over at me, did that sweet little half smile he always does, said something to Santana, causing her to look over at me. He comes over with Santana's hand in his.
"Hey Rachel, sorry we're a little late. You look great, by the way." he said.
I was so surprised, nervous, worried, and confused that all my body energy had seemed to disappear, so it took all my strength to say, "Thank you. Our tables right there in the back." I said and turn my head towards the table Quinn had instructed me to sit at. Where was Quinn? She had an idea that would fix all of this, but she's nowhere in sight. How am I supposed to make Finn jealous without a date?
"Cool." He said and started to walking. He turned to Santana and I "You guys coming?" he asked.
"One second Finny Bear." Santana answered. "I'm going to catch up on girl talk with Rachel!" she said, so innocently.
Finn looked at the both of us with a confused face, because he knew that Santana and I weren't the best of friends. "O-kay?" he said suspiciously before continuing to walk to the table.
Santana turned to me. "Look dwarf, I see you have no date, and somehow I'm not surprised-"
"He's on his way" I said over her as she continued talking, but I wasn't really sure if anyone was on their way.
"but Finn's mine now. I won. You lost, dollface. And now your going to embarrass yourself in front of him with your imaginary date, and he will be locked into my arms forever. Got it? Good." she finished as she walked away. But then she turned back around and reminded me, "And if you pull anything tonight to try and get Finn back, just remember I'm from Lima Heights adjacent. I will ends you." she said and finally walked to our table and sat right next to Finn in the booth.
I follow her, speechless.
As I sit down in the booth, I scoot over towards the middle as if I actually had a date that I needed to make room for.
"So Rachel, I notice you don't have a date." said Finn.
"Oh he's just on his way." I said.
I looked up to Finn to see if he was buying it, but I saw he wasn't looking at me. Or Santana. His attention was put on the door of the restaurant. I followed his eyes to the door, where Quinn was standing, in her prom dress, walking towards our table.
When she reached our table she sat down, and said, "Hey Finn, hi Santana."
"What are you doing here, princess?" Santana asked.
"I'm Rachel's date." she answered.
