Chapter 18

After last night I feel like a lot less tension is in the group. Which I'm really glad, I don't feel like anyone is hiding anything anymore. We were all getting ready preparing to go to the Rome Colosseum. I had finished early so I decided to go ahead and contract with those dragons. I went out in the living room and sat on the ground like I was meditating, i heard someone say "Hey Ve-" then someone shushed them. I summoned the dragon leaders and contracted with all of them. Then let them go back to rest in the spirit world. I then summoned,Ken Kaneki, the leader of one of the most powerful ghoul assassin groups to ever exist. "Hello Kaneki, sir." "Hello young one. Am I here so you can contract with me?" I nodded and so did he. "You do know what you have to give in order to contract with me don't you?" "Of course." I got up to get a cup. I cut my arm and filled them cup. I walked back over to him handing him the cup. "Offering to please Rise." He quickly drank it before nodding, signaling that the contract is complete on that end. I nodded at him and let him go back to the spirit world. I went into the bathroom and got a bandage wrapping my arm. I walked over and put on the necklace Maddox gave me. Then, went into the living room to see Rachael and QUINN sitting on the couch and she looked at me and said, "That's why that guy hasn't gotten contracted with." I shook my head and smiled to myself. "That guy has kept me out of trouble for a long time. It was time I contracted with him, and it's not like he wants to be the way he is. I  appreciate him." i stated. She shrugged and said, "How many in actuality did you just contract with?" "Well one group of dragons was 7 dragons. Another was 11. And the other set of dragons was 9." "And who many ghouls?" "8." "How many were you contracted with before you contracted just now?" "35" "Vel, you're contracted with 70 spirits!!!" "Aren't you at least a little whoozy?" "Not really. Anyways, how many are you contracted with?" "59, and I get whoozy for a little while after I contract." Maddox walked out our room and saw my arm. "What happened to you arm?" He asked, curiously. I pointed to the cup sitting on the floor with blood in it and said, "Had to feed a ghoul." He gave me a weird look and said, "With your blood?" "Hey, it's a cup a blood or a limb." Maddox gave me a worried look before nodded. Nixon and Gray came out and said, "We ready to go?" We all nodded and headed out. As we were walking I started playing with the necklace. "Hey, you just gonna play with the necklace and not talk to the person who gave it to you?" Maddox said wrapping is arm around my shoulders. "Playing with the necklace is way more interesting than you." I said laughing. "Ouch, that hit me deep in the soul." Maddox said, faking being offended. Then we both started laughing. "Oh, so you can talk to your boyfriend but the rest of us don't exist, I see how it is Velicitee I see how it is." Rachael said, faking a disappointed face. I laughed and said, "It's okay, I love y'all more than him anyway." "Oh you're getting payback for that one." Then Maddox tackled me to the ground and started tickling me. I punched him in the stomach flipping us over and I straddled him. As soon as he realized the position we were in he started to have a panic attack. I quickly got off of him and laid his head on my lap, play with his hair, calmly. I repeatedly whispered, "It's okay. That's over now" And after about 10 minutes he calmed down, and sat up, clinging onto me. I pet his hair and slightly started rocking him like you would a young child that just woke up from a nightmare, and in a way, he did. Once he pulled a way we stood up and he still clung onto me. I wrapped my arm around his waist. We started walking again and everyone gave me quizzical looks, I just shook my head at them and they all nodded. We started walking through a field towards the Colosseum. Then, everything started getting dark. I looked up to see a necromancer dome. Which me a dark necro is here. I looked back ahead of me to see that everyone is passing, then I realized, no one sees us. Then a familiar form started to develop in front of us. I reached towards my back pocket and felt the necklace still there. I pushed Maddox off of me and looked him in the eye and said, "How about you go sit over there." Pointing to the furthest spot from what I think is going to be a fight. "Gray. Quinn. Get away from here. Nixon. Rachael. Get ready to start summoning." Then, the shadow said, "Oh, my daughter, there's no need to fight me, I just want you and Nixon to come with me." "I'm not going to do that. I finally found a place I'm happy at. I finally found people who make me happy. I'm not leaving them, I need them just as much as they need me if not more." I stated. Then the shadow summoned a griffin. "Then I guess you do need to summon." I summoned Thansathion, Rachael summoned Ryuu, and Nixon summoned a monster I recognize quite well. Nixon summoned his chimera, Shadow. My mom's griffin came at me and Thansathion. Thansathion dodged trying to block it from hitting me. Instead the griffin knocked off my ring. And then I started to fight my mother, keeping the little sanity I have thanks to the necklace laying on the ground in front of me. But, I still wasn't me anymore.
