Emma's P.O.V:
Just when you think you're ready to go home and sleep so you can wake up extra early to finish the homework you couldn't do the night before because you were werewolf hunting, something else always happens.
Turned out Allison was at the bank too. Surprisingly, the bruises on hers and Lydia's wrists weren't as useless as Derek thought; they formed the logo of the bank and Allison had found out by herself. I had to admit I was pretty surprised.
But then she broke the mountain ash barrier someone had built to keep Boyd and the other girl inside and they escaped.
As soon as we got to the bank, Scott asked us to drop him on the woods and ordered us to go home.
"They're going to kill anything that moves," he says. "Please go home and be safe."
"We'll normally say no," Stiles says. "But we'll let you be the boss tonight."
"Yeah," I agree. "I don't need another werewolf trying to kill me. I have enough with you."
"I don't do that anymore," Scott mumbles.
"Hey, who's the other girl, by the way?" Stiles asks, looking at Scott through the mirror.
Allison had found Erica's body and so did Derek a couple of minutes later. I couldn't tell how he felt for the loss of one of his pack members. Maybe he wasn't as powerful as before or maybe he really cared about the innocent teenager that only wanted to fit in.
"Cora," Scott said from the backseats. "Cora Hale."
Stiles almost drives us directly to a tree. "You mean she's related to Derek?"
"Eyes on the road," I groan, "you almost kill us."
"She's his sister," Scott says, ignoring the fact that Stiles can be a terrible driver sometimes. "I don't know anything else; Derek thought she was dead."
"Ah, don't worry," Stiles sarcastically says, "you'll have time to catch up tonight."
A few metres ahead, he stops the car and I give Scott room for him to get out.
"Thanks guys! Remember what I said," he says with a smile before disappearing under the full moon.
"Yeah, go home, be safe..." I trail off.
"He'll be okay, Emma," Stiles says, taking my hand in his for a second before driving off again.
I didn't say anything. He knew what I was thinking; he was probably thinking the same. We both knew that the fact that the three of us had survived so far didn't mean all of us had survived.
Crazy Allison's aunt is dead, as well as her mother. Erica's dead now. Jackson was almost dead multiple times and now he's an Omega. Matt, the boy I dated once and then he tried to kill me (not only once, but twice) is also dead.
It is true that some of them were the bad guys and that we attempt to be the good guys, but it's also true that death doesn't make a distinction between good and evil.
It doesn't matter if you were despicable or a saint your whole life...you have equals chances to die. Scott playing his hero card doesn't assure me he'll be alive after tonight. And that's what worries me the most, because Scott is too good to think twice about risking his life for others. Right now he's chasing down two werewolves that haven't seen moonlight in months just so everybody else can be safe.
We don't even make it to our street when I get a phone call from Lydia.
"Hey, what's wrong?" I answer, wondering why she's calling me so late at night.
