Stiles' P.O.V:
I completely believe Lydia when she says that she doesn't know how she found the body. There is something to worry about, since the last time this happened she basically brought Peter back to life.
I think there's something else about Lydia. Like, she might be something. You know, Peter did bite her and she didn't die neither she turned into a werewolf. That's something we'd know by now.
But if she completely violated the supernatural rules as to what happens when you're attacked by a werewolf, what is going on with her?
Surviving the bite and live a completely normal life doesn't happen to anybody; why is Lydia the exception?
When Melissa calls me from the hospital I immediately know something went wrong. I don't know what to expect at all.
"Hey, what happened?" is the first thing Emma asks me when I sit in the passenger seat of our jeep.
"We're about to find out," I say as she drives towards the hospital.
It's so weird not to drive my own car.
"How was Lydia?" she asked, eyes on the road.
"Terrified," I admitted. "She found a dead body without looking for it."
She nodded; there was no need to state the obvious. I didn't say anything else.
Melissa McCall was nervously pacing around the reception. She quickly walks towards us when we cross the main doors of the hospital.
"What's wrong?" Emma asks.
She takes both her and my wrists and drags us through the halls. I have a bad feeling when I realize I already know where we going; she taking us to the Morgue.
"I need you to see something," she says. "And if you tell someone I let you in, I'm going to kill you painfully and slowly."
We don't need another McCall trying to kill us during the full moon, thank you.
There are two bodies; one of them is exposed, as if it was just studied or is about to. The other one is hidden under a blanket, ready to be locked up.
I recognize the exposed body as the boy Lydia found in the pools.
"Why you want to show us a body we've already seen?" I ask Melissa. Not that I needed to see it again.
"Because you haven't seen everything," Scott's mother says. She gets closer to the body and points out the marks she wants us to notice. "See this around his neck? That's a ligature mark. That means that he was strangled with something, like cord, rope..."
"Wait a second," Emma immediately interrupts. We're thinking the same. "What kind of werewolf strangles someone? You know, that's not very... werewolf-y."
"My thoughts exactly," I agree.
"And then there's this," Melissa says, pointing at the head. There's literally a hole so deep you can see his brain.
"God, what is that? Is that brain matter?" I complain. And even though I can't stand the view, I can't seem to take my eyes off it.
"See the indentation? He was hit in the back of the head, hard enough to kill him. In fact, any one of these things could have killed him. I mean, someone seriously wanted this poor kid dead."
Emma takes a step back. Melissa is right. And if our missing werewolves didn't do this...it means there is real assassin murdering innocents out there. And I have the feeling they're not necessarily supernatural.
