Isabella's POV: Present
My last day of treatment, I'm finally out and able to see the light again. I couldn't think of a better day to feel free again. The sun was warm and so welcoming as I stepped into the parking lot.
My dad waved to me with the car. I felt small tears in my eyes as a smile instantly made it to my face. My way back to my life. New fresh start.
I ran to hug him, it felt amazing to feel my dad's arms around me. There were no words to describe the happiness I felt.
"I missed you so much mi hija." He told me, his voice cracking.
I missed you too papa, a lot. I said in sign language.
Brand new.
New town, new school.
I can do this.

My first day at my new high school. I stopped to examine the place where I'll graduate. The sun shining over it made it look nice. I think I'll like it but still...
It felt weird being semi normal again. Not being in Dr. Harris' office. Not being in a white tank top and sweatpants. Being surrounded by people and color instead of white cushion walls.
I took a deep breath and continued walking. I held my white board close to my chest as I went through the doors. The school had two floors, it was big and looked to have a lot of students. I walked through the halls while examining the place before turning the corner.
I was about to start walking when I caught a group of guys in the middle of the hallway laughing together. There was no way I'd get around them, they took up a lot of the hallway. Before I could turn around one of them began looking around then caught my eyes.
He froze before smiling softly, I didn't know what to do besides stare back. His expression confused me. I didn't know what to make of it.
He seemed shocked, confused but somehow looked like someone who had hearts in their eyes. My heart picked up a little bit before I quickly looked away and turned back toward the way I came. What I didn't expect was for him to follow me. At least I was hoping it wasn't him.
I sped up but he began running then stopped in front of me, I froze.
He was handsome. He had hazel greenish beautiful eyes with perfect tan skin. He was very muscled and had black hair that was slicked to one side. His stumble looked good on him too.
"Hey you're the new student, right?" He questioned, I simply nodded.
"I'm Adrian, what's your name beautiful?" He asked quickly brushing his fingers under my chin.
I paused shortly blinking several times, surprised by his action before writing on my white board.
Isabella and I'm not really interested in making friends.
"Isabella...it's pretty, fits you perfectly. You know that name is common for royals. Mostly princesses." He pointed out, smiling genuinely.
He completely ignored my comment about friends. The bell suddenly rang and I jumped.
"It's just the bell." He assured, "Hopefully I'll see you later." He told me brushing a strand of hair from my face.
I swallowed and began walking away from him.
"Bye, princess." He called, I could feel my cheeks turning pink as my face heated up.
This town seems a little too...welcoming.
