Adrian's POV:
I was really hoping to find something. But I didn't like at all what I found. Now I wish I had left it alone all together.
Articles popped up introducing me to the famous killer he seems to be and Isabella's name is in all of them being named the only survivor.
Pictures of the people he brutally killed and their funerals. Isabella was in all of them, these were all her friends. There were a total of eight people in Riverside, North Carolina that died by his hands.
Looking in deeper I found another story that shocked me. Isabella shot Jacob and when she gave a statement it was that he called it all a sick twisted game.
Is that what she meant when she said it's happening again? That she's back in the game? Leaning back I took in all the information I was reading.
Isabella had to have been to a mental hospital, Crystal was right. But how could anyone blame her after all this.
Did he hurt her? Leave behind marks? Is that why she covers up so much?
I could feel anger balling in my fists as I thought about it. The only thing I couldn't understand was why. Why did he do all this? And was it aimed specifically at Isabella? To hurt her?
I read more before I came across a line that interested me.
"It's believed the death of his son, Caleb Alexander, triggered his killings."
I quickly searched up his son to see how this connected to Isabella. And what I saw next pissed me off the most. I could've smashed my laptop.
Glancing over the article, I felt my breathing get heavy.
It read that he had sexually assaulted Isabella at a party. When charges were brought against him, he committed suicide.
I slammed my laptop shut before putting my head in my hands. I could not read anymore. This was so heavy, if Jacob was planning on doing what he did at Riverside here. Then we were all in danger.
Her the most, but why? Because she survived?
And if he made it this far, then he was smart. I have to protect Isabella. I won't lose her.
After a brief moment of trying to just relax, I got dressed and went back to my car after telling my mom where I'd be.
Going in Isabella's house I saw Lupe sleeping on the couch, he needed a nap. He was probably so overwhelmed and exhausted.
Heading upstairs, I saw Isabella's room cracked open. She must be awake now. Carefully walking in, I looked around the room.
She was no where in sight, I quickly glanced at the bathroom but she wasn't in there either. I started to panic before I noticed her bed.
There were two envelopes, one labeled to me and the other to her dad. Chills rushed through my body. I know what this means.
I quickly grabbed my letter and ripped it open to see if it had any clue to where she went.
"Dear Adrian, I know things are so confusing and I'm sorry I never told you the truth. It's too late now but just understand this is best. He wants me dead, if he gets what he wants. He'll leave all of you alone..."
I threw the paper, not being able read anymore. No, no, no, no! This can't be happening. I need to find her.
Come on, think! Where would she go? Her phone. Quickly pulling mine out of my pocket, I hurriedly tracked hers down.
