Isabella's POV:

I made sure to pack Adrian's shirt as I got ready for school. I freshened up then went to my closet. I picked out a black off the shoulder long sleeve shirt and a pair of slightly ripped up skinny jeans.

I heard a honk outside and already knew who it was, I smiled before grabbing my backpack then heading to the door.

"Mi hija, did you take your medication?" My dad asked, I nodded.

He must've got out of work early for a third shifter.

"Who's been picking you up lately?" He asked with a suspicious glint in his eyes that made me silently giggle.

Just a friend papa, we came here to start fresh and have a normal life. That's what I'm doing. I told him in sign language.

"Mi hija, I'm glad you're going out and making friends. Believe me I really do. I just thought it would take more time for you to readjust after the whole thing that happened in Riverside." He mentioned with a concerned look,

I've drowned over it long enough, it's time for me to move on. Treatment took enough time to adjust. Trust me, I'm okay. I promise. I responded, while giving him a quick peck on his cheek.

"Your mother would be proud." I heard him faintly say,

I headed out the door after throwing him a smile. I could see where he was worried, I thought I would never get over what happened either but I have to move on sometime. Otherwise treatment would've been pointless.

I jogged to the car and got in before pulling out his shirt. I quickly wrote on my whiteboard and offered his shirt to him.

I washed and dried it by the way. I told him,

"Keep it, I like it better on you." He responded, taking me by surprise.

Are you sure? I have plenty of clothes. I wrote,

"I'm definitely sure, I'd like to see you in it again." He insisted,

Did I really look that nice in this shirt? Maybe I really should keep it and wear it again.

Thank you. I told him, offering a smile.

School passed by in a breeze and Angie suggested we all go out to eat after school. So here we are at a restaurant called Denny's.

We sat at a 'U' shaped booth. Marcus was on the end then it was me, Adrian, Derek, Angie, Megan. Then at the other end was Matt. Adrian's arm was draped on the seat behind me. It would often brush my shoulders, giving me shivers.

"What do you think looks good, princess?" Adrian asked me,

I pointed to the appetizer with the chicken, mozzarella sticks, and onion rings. He nodded and showed me what he wanted while everyone else decided. The waitress started coming up to us and I could see Matt grin like Cheshire the cat.

"Hello, my name's Amber and I'll be your waitress for the time being. Can I start you off with some drinks?" She said politely,

I showed Adrian the mountain dew so he could order for me. Everyone began ordering before it was Matt's turn, who by the way was giving the waitress a cocky look.

"Can I have a tall glass of you?" He asked wiggling his eyebrows,

Amber's eyes widened and she became speechless. She looked frozen in an awkward position so I quickly but lightly slapped Adrian's shoulder.

"Yeah? Oh! He'll just have a pepsi." He quickly said,

The waitress blinked several times before writing it down and scurrying away. I face palmed myself as Matt chuckled.
