Chapter 4

The next morning is crazy ! It's Monday but it's not just any normal Monday morning. It's the first day I get to go back to school in two weeks. I've heard Carston's been hanging out with the boys since I've been gone to, and I quote, " Keep her from getting bullied into a deep slumber like me. ". Yeah Dalton is a strange one ,but it's a good kind of strange. He would definately be cute with Carston, they are the same kind of crazy after all. 

I woke up an hour earlier than I meant to and couldn't go back to sleep so I decided to go ahead and get up. Imagine my surprise when Cole and his mom were rushing around the house trying to make things easier for everybody when they wake up. 

I slowly walk down the stairs in my oversized tee-shirt that might as well be considered a dress. I try not to be noticed but that's a little hard to do with how annoyingly observant Cole is. I step down on the final step to the stairs thinking I might have just accomplished the impossible. Then the stair creaks underneath me and Cole turns towards me. Well that went well...

" Hey what are you doing up ? " He said rushing over to the stairs to meet me. 

" I could ask you and your mom the same. What on earth are you guys doing ? " I ask watching his mom walk outside and grab bags from her car. " Did you guys go to the store ?! " I whisper shout. 

" Well.... " He said rubbing the back of his neck. 

" Do you and your mom usually make early morning grocery trips or is all this fuss because I'm here ? Please tell me it's not the second one because that would make me feel really bad... " I say seriously. 

" Well... No we don't usually go on early morning grocery trips but we sometimes do. And I'm not telling you if it's because of you or not because then you might feel bad and that's forbidden ! " He playfully stated. 

" Come on. Just tell me ! " I whined. 

" Nope. " Cole said crossing his arms and and smiling victoriously. 

" You're so difficult ! Can I at least help with anything ? " I ask walking to the kitchen but Cole pulls me back towards the stairs. 

" Yep you can help by getting ready for school. You don't have to help Korra my mom and I are fully capible of handling this. " He said quickly. 

" But-" 

" Ehhh. No buts. Now go. " He said pointing up the stairs. 

" Fine ! " I say swinging my head back and trudging up the stairs.

" Good girl ! " Cole whisper shouted up after me so when I got to the top I leaned over the rail cupping my hands around my mouth. 

" Wroof Wroof ! " I wispered and I heard a chuckle as a response. 

I walked into my room and decided to go ahead and get ready since I was technically being forced to. I walk over to my closet and think for a minute before I finally figure out something I could wear. 

I grabbed a lacey pink/peach semi-see through top and a pair of light blue skinny jeans. I throw on the same pair of shoes I've worn everyday since I've been at the Pendery's and find my earrings. I go to the bathroom and brush my teeth and hair ,quickly putting it into a semi-wavy low ponytail ,and grabbing my glasses. Yep I wear glasses like a nerd would. No not one of those people who pretend to wear glasses while wearing insainly showy clothes. I really do have perscription glasses and I'm a dorky person. Therefore I am an authentic nerd not a wannabe. 

I sling my bag over my shoulder and leave the guest room walking down the stairs slow enough not to be caught this time. It only took me about twenty minutes to get ready ,so I decided to be the rebellious little jackwagon I am, and went down to help them out.
