Chapter 12

" Cole ! How is she ?! " Carston yells running right past him and straight to me. 

" I'm not sure. She hasn't said anything since the whole thing and she hasn't been sleeping very well either. " He said sadness not so subtly etched in his every move, word ,and somehow even in his breath. 

" Korra ? Korra dear, you have to speak to someone. " She said but I looked away. I don't have to talk to anyone. I don't want to and they can't make me. 

I know that sounds childish and immature but I just honestly don't care. I'm tired of talking and not being heard, so I'm not talking at all. Maybe it's just for now, or maybe it's going to be for good. I'm not sure yet.

" I don't think she's ready to talk. Maybe she just needs time. " Dalton said desperately trying to comfort her and I feel a tinge of guilt. She was my friend when no one else was and now I'm being a lousey friend back. I just, I can't deal with this right now. 

" Korra please. I know you're scared and hurt but so am I. I almost lost my best friend and sister back there and if it weren't for Cole... " She paused taking a deep breath trying not to cry in front of everybody. " I don't even want to think about what would've happened. " She said, her voice cracking as a rebellious little tear tunnels down her cheek. 

" Carston, come on. " Dalton said guiding her sad figure over to where Cole was. 

I saw them talking for a few minutes, probably about me but I couldn't hear anything. But I did occasionally catch them staring at me and made out the word gym. Oh heck no ! They better not be taking me to the gym ! 

Suddenly Carston groans loudly and I laugh quietly at her over dramatic response to, well whatever they said. I must've been loud enough though because I swear I see Cole smiling at my sudden reaction. Next thing I know their little group huddle is dismissed and the soon to be love birds are walking my way. 

" We're going to the gym. Dalton invited me to come with him and seeing as I've never been I figured I should probably drag my lazy butt there. " She said only half as excited as she usually is. Yeah she doesn't do the whole ' fitness ' thing so this is going to be funny to hear about later. 

" More like I'm draggin her along because she is afraid of the big muscley guys that are always there. " Dalton said and I can't help but laugh. 

" Okay well we're off see you later Korra ! BYE COLE ! " She yelled shutting the door quickly after her. I swear she's like a mini megaphone. 

" So what movie you want to watch ? " Cole said plopping down beside me with a bowl of popcorn. I raise my eyebrows and he laughs. 

" You look like a cute little puppy who doesn't understand the word no yet. " He said and I feel the sudden heat in my cheeks. 

" Okay since you're still not talking how about... Texas Chainsaw Massacre ! " He said excitedly. 

 " NO ! " I practically scream and I don't know if he's more suprised by my areaction or the fact I just talked. 

" Why not ? " He asked laughing clearly amused by my little moment. 

I can't tell him that. He'll laugh at me ! I mean I'm sure I'm not the only one but still I hate admitting it. 

" I won't laugh at you, I promise. " He said and I face palm. Did I really say that outloud ? 

" No you didn't I guessed. But that time you said it out loud. " He said laughing even more. 

" No it's stupid. " I said suddenly finding my hands very interesting. 

"Try me. " He said wrapping an arm around me. 

" I'm afraid of hfihejrf. " I said muttering the last part. 

" You're afraid of muffins ? " 

" No. " 

" Then what are you afraid of ? " He asked and I sighed. 

" Scary mov- I"M AFRAID OF CHAINSAWS OKAY ! " I said pouting like a 2 year old as he stared at me bewildered. 

" Let me get this straight. You're afraid of... chainsaws ? " He asked and I nod ashamed of my phobia. I can't help it them with their spinning blade and motor all like " Hey wassup looser ?! I can cut you to pieces on accident and on purpose ! " 

" Can't say I blame you. Those things are pretty terrifying. How about we watch Mean Girls instead ? " He asked and I was genuinely surprised. He didn't laugh. 

" Sure I'd like that. " I said snuggling down into the couch. 

" Oh by the way, Carston and Dalton. They're officially official. " 

A/N: This is short and crappy and I'm sorry I'm an awful person but I'm sick and feel really bad for not updating sooner and * takes breath * I'm sorry.... I'll update as soon as I feel better ! I promise !
