Chapter 16

Today has gone a lot better than I expected after what happened yesterday. It's already lunch time and I haven't had any major accidents yet. Maybe the universe is actually on my side for once. 

" Korra please just talk to me. " Okay so maybe I was wrong. Thanks for nothing universe. 

" I don't think we have anything to talk about. Maybe your girlfriend wants to talk with you. " I said coldy walking past his table but he gets up to follow me to mine. 

" Korra come on. Please just let me talk. " He said sitting beside me. 

" Is this going to be the kind of talk where you're nice and actually care what happens to me ,or is it going to be the one where you're pissed at me for things you think I would do ? Because neither seem very appealing anymore. " I said angrily. 

" Come on Korra don't be like that. " He said looking hurt. 

" Be like what ? Honest ? Because I think you and everyone else around this dump could take a lesson on it. " I said about to get up and leave but he grabs onto my wrist. 

" Korra please just listen to me. " He said sadly.

" Fine I'll listen but it doesn't mean I'll forgive you or think what you did was right. " I said sitting back down crossing my arms. 

" I was an idiot- " 

" You got that right buddy. " Carston said sitting in front of me. 

" Cole I thought I said to leave her alone. " Dalton said coldly. 

" Guys chill. " I said willing for Cole to continue. 

" Can we talk somewhere else ? " He asks and I look over to Dalton and Carston. Dalton is slowly shaking his head no and Carston is waving me off. Well nice to know you're on my side Carston... 

After considering my options and realizing he's not going to go away before I let him talk, I figured I had nothing to lose by hearing him out. Right ?

" Okay. But you know they're ninjas so if you try any funny bussiness they'll kick your butt. " I say getting up and walking towards the doors. 

After walking outside he pulls me over to the side into a little alley like hole in the building. I have never seen this area of the school and I've been beaten up in a lot of places so that's not normal. 

" I swear if you try to hurt me I will kick your butt. " I said obviously afraid. 

" I won't hurt you. I just want to talk. " He said laughing as he raised his hands in surrender. 

" Okay talk. " I said still sorta scared. This brings back a lot of unwelcome memories from before I knew Cole and Dalton. I doubt those memories will ever completely go away but times like this I wish the forget everyhting thingy from Men in Black was real. 

" I'm really sorry. I should've never doubted you. I was wrong about the entire thing and I shouldn't have taken her word after seeing how she's treated you in the past. I already broke up with her actually. I was hoping maybe we could be friends again but that's probably too much to ask for am I right ? " He asked slowly getting closer and I can't help but get nervous. This is all way too familiar for my liking. 

" Y-yeah. " I croaked out suddenly feeling the tears prickling at my eyes as I backed farther away until I hit the wall.

" Are you okay ? You look really nervous. " He asked raising a hand and reaching for me. 

" No ! " I shrieked crouching down like they teach you for when a tornado randomly appears. 

" Woah ! Woah ! It's okay, I'm not going to hurt you. " He said holding up his hands to show he wouldn't. 

I slowly uncurl enough to look up at him but enough to go all armadillo if he tries to do something. When I see the look of shock and confusion on his face I realize what just happened and I mentally smack myself. Well there's no way I can cover this one up...
