Chapter 14

" If it's all the same to you ma'am, I brought someone to read the script with. " Carston said as I walk out onto the stage. At least we're the last people left in the theater so no one will hear my fail at Juliet's part. How did I get roped into this anyway ?! 

" Begin when you're ready. " Mrs. Robin said scribbling something down. I look over at Carston and she gives me the thumbs up. Let's get this over with...

" Man, can the nurse be any slower ? I sent her to talk to Romeo like 3 hours ago. " I say tapping my foot seeming displeased as Carston comes on stage. 

" It's about time you got here ! I sent you out to find Romeo, have you been with you boyfriend this whole time ? " I asked and it took everything in us not to laugh at this awful script. 

" Calm yourself woman. I did what you asked so let me catch my breath at least. " She said pretending to have just run a marathon.

" Oh please, please, please ! Tell me what he said ! " I begged purposely in my most annoying fangirly voice. 

" Gosh chill ! I talk to your man for you and this is the thanks I get. You're scheduled to meet up in half an hour at the gardens on 9th. The official will be there and you can have your wedding. Sheesh. " She said being over dramatically testy. 

" PERFECT ! " Mrs. Robin shouted and I fall over because of the sudden noise echoeing though the auditorium. 

" Now lets hear Juliet sing ! " She said and I froze. 

" Oh uh no... I wasn't... You see I never meant to- " 

" Come on now ! Time is ticking, the day's a wasting ! " She shouted again and I give up and decide to give the fruitcake what she wants. 

We were both young when I first saw you

I close my eyes and the flashback starts I'm standing there

On a balcony in summer air 

See the lights see the parties the ball gowns 

See you make your way though the crowd and say " Hello "

Little did I know...

I sing in such a quiet voice I'm surprised they heard anything but I'm assuming they did based on their loud applause and the sudden shouting. 

" You girls have the parts ! " Mrs. Robin screamed running up with two scripts in hand. 

" Wait ! I didn't mean to audidtion for Juliet ! I was going to audition for bush number 4 in the garden scene ! " I say as she's shoving the highlighted script in my arms. 

" Nonsense ! You were born to be Juliet ! I can't wait to start rehersals tomorrow ! " She rambled as she ran back to her things gathering them and then leaving me stunned. 

" Oh my gosh ! Congratulations ! You're the lead and you get to kiss Romeo. " Carston said winking. 

" How is this possibly good in your  mind ?! We don't even know who Romeo is ! " I protest feeling a headache coming on. 

" No you don't know who Romeo is. I know who she picked because while someone eas trying to earn a new high score in Flappy Birds others of us were watching the preformers and only one could be Romeo. " She said but then stopped talking. 

" Are you gunna tell me who it is ? " I asked annoyingly shoving the script into the bag and walking offstage. 

" Nope. Not gunna hear it from me. " She said skipping around like a first grader on a sugar high. Oh no this can not be good. That's her I-know-something-you-don't-but-you-won't-like-it look.

" Come on ! No fair ! Why do you get to know but not me, I have to kiss the guy at the end of this crappy thing. " I whined and she froze. 

" That makes this even better. " She said pulling the creepiest smile I've ever seen.
