Chapter 8

* Cole's POV *

" Okay you ready ? " I ask. 

" Yep. Now lets hook those two up already ! " She said excitedly waving me out. 

" Okay ! Okay ! I'm going ! " I say laughing. 

I walk out into the waiting room and find Carston cuddled up on Dalton. They're both sleeping so peacefully that I know they're going to hate me for waking them up. Oh well, they'll get over it and thank me later.

I walk up and push Dalton over causing him and Carston both to fall on the floor. The best part about it is when they fell, Carston fell on top of Dalton. 

" I'm so so so sorry. Oh my gosh. I'm so clumsy ! Just once I'd like to not be accident proned ! " She started rambling while trying to get off of Dalton which ultimately failed. While she was trying to get up she fell back on top of him. Yep I can clearly see why Korra's her best friend. They're both the clumsiest people on the planet. It's kind of cute how clumsy Korra is though. Wait what ? 

" It's okay Carston ! Calm down. " Dalton said laughing and smiling as Carston still failed to stand up. 

" Here let me help you. " Dalton said picking her up and putting her on her feet. 

" Thanks. " She mumbled looking at the ground shyly. I figured it's about time that they know I'm here so I casually clear my throat.

" Oh um how much of that did you see ? " Dalton asks slightly embarassed and I can't help but smirk. They have no idea it was me. Pendery. Cole Pendery. Spy extraordinaire. 

" All of it." I say shrugging casually. 

" It wasn't what it looked like ! " Carston said defensively and I can't help it anymore. I start laughing uncontrollably as they blush like the awkward bunch they are. 

" I thought it was funny but I really  just came to tell you that she woke up. " I say nodding towards the door. 

We all walk back to the room and I close the door behind us. So far the plan is going swimmingly. Why did I just say swimmingly you ask ? Because I can, that's why. 

" Korra ! " Carston shouts happily running over and hugging her.

" Hey there's the lovely couple ! " Korra says clapping happily. 

" Uh We're not- " Carston starts to say but I quickly cut her off. 

" Hey guys can I talk to you outside for a second ? " I ask and they follow me confused as ever. 

" Why did she say the ' lovely couple ' ? " Dalton asks clearly unsure of what's happening. 

" I forgot to tell you. The doctors say she has a concussion and remembers almost everything but for some reason she seems to have made up bits and pieces of stuff. " I say as serious as I can.

" So what you're saying is, she remembers most stuff ,but in her mind somewhere she thinks we're dating ? " Carston asks hesitantly. 

" Yeah and the doc said that it's best not to try and convince her of the things she got wrong. He said it'll come back eventually but in the mean time to make it seem like she's got it all right. " I say explaining further. 

" So that means... " Dalton trails looking at the floor thinking. 

" That we have to pretend we're dating ? " Carston asks once she catches up. 

" Yeah pretty much. " I say still holding back the smile pulling at my lips. 

" Okay. " She said and we both look at her surprised. 

" I thought you'd be more.... Upset ? " I said tilting my head to the side. 

" Nope whatever I gotta do to make things easier for her I'm up for. Plus it's not like she thinks I'm dating you or something. " She said and Dalton smiles chuckling like the best friend he is. 

" Yeah it's not like you're stuck with some hideous jerk nugget like me. " I say sarcatically and her expression softens. 

" No ! I didn't mean it like that ! I'm just- I meant- I was trying to... I'm just gunna go. " She said turning to leave but Dalton grabs her wrist and carefully pulls her back. Not bad my friend, not bad. 

" No, he knows what you meant. He's just being a girl. " He said and I glare at him. 

" Well... I guess it wouldn't hurt to stay for a few more minutes. " She said looking down. 

" Come on let's go get some food for Korra. " Dalton said grabbing her hand and pulling her along slowly. 

I make sure that they're out of sight before I slowly sneak back into Korra's room like the super spy I am. I can't believe her plan actually worked. I should give her a first place ribbon for that, like the ones at science fairs and spelling bees and stuff. 

" Hey ! Did it work ?! " Korra asks sitting up quickly.

" You're a genius, you know that ?  " I say walking up to her bed and sitting on the side. 

" So I've been told. So what'd you tell them ? " She asks excitedly. 

" Well ,I walked them out and said that the doctor told me that you made parts of life up ,and not to correct you because they'll eventually come back to you. " I said as if it was nothing.

" That's brilliant ! So what happened after ? " She asked. 

" Well Carston said that it could've been worse she could've been stuck with me and anything to help you. Then she freaked out when I acted insulted and tried to leave but Dalton stopped her and they went to get you food. " I said rolling my eyes. 

" Perfect ! Now when can I leave this hell hole ? " She asked and I don't know what to say. 

" What ? " She said worried. 

" You just said hell. " I repeat. 

" I call it like I see it. " She said shrugging. 

" Point taken. I'll go check. Don't mess up the plan while I'm gone. " I say closing the door quickly. 

I have a lot to learn about those two. They're definately not going anywhere if I can help it. 

A/N: So this is sorta late. I tried to have one written last weekend but then my grandma sorta needed me to come help paint and clean and stuff so yeah. But it's here now ! So quick side note I have a few new projects coming out so be on the look out for those. Also I finished 2 of my stories already so if you want to go check those out ,if you don't already, they're up too. So I'll just go write some more and leave you all to read so Byah !
