My greatest fear had come true Jake was gone. I was alone in this world. Jake left me and our unborn child. As we walk back to the main house my family laughs and talks but all I can think about is the pain. When we reach the main house my mother and father grab my hands and kiss me on each cheek. I know that they are trying to comfort me but it’s not working all I can think of is Jake. As we step into the house I smell Jake’s scent I began to cry knowing that this would be the last time I smell him. “Why are you crying Nessie?” “Mom, Jake is DEAD! Why shouldn’t I cry? Why should I even live? I can’t go on without him. He is my life and now my life is gone.” “Nessie calm down.” “ I can’t calm down. All of you have your mates but mine died today on that battle field to make it safe for me and our baby.” “Nessie?” I must be dreaming. I hear his voice in my ears.

Jake?

Nessie! Why did you think I was dead?

You were on the ground and I couldn’t hear your heart.

Nessie I’m part vampire remember? Even if I was dead I would still be a vampire.

I can’t believe that Jake is here alive and staring at me. I feel dizzy and drained. I fall to the ground and close my eyes and drift off to a peaceful sleep.

Jake’s POV

The moment I saw Nessie’s face I knew she thought the worse. I was stupid to get hurt but I had to save Rose. A vampire was attacking her and another crept up behind her and grabbed her head. I could hear the granite breaking so I jumped on the leeches’ back and killed him. After that I remember one of the ancient leeches jump on me then I blacked out. I woke up here in Rose’s and Em’s bed. Rose was watching over me. It freaked me out then I heard Nessie screaming downstairs. I can’t believe she won’t wake up. It’s been 2 hours. I did this. I hurt her. Her grandfather says she will be fine and that the baby should be ready to come in the next few weeks. I almost forgot about our baby. I rub Nessie’s stomach. “Nessie you have to get better. Please come back to me.” I begin to cry I can’t think of my life without Nessie. “Jake you should get some sleep. If she wakes up I will wake you I promise.” “No Bells, I need to be by her side.” “Jake she will be fine but if you don’t sleep you won’t be.” “Ok a 20 minute nap that’s all and then I will be back.” “Ok Jake.” I walk toward Nessie’s room and before I make it Rose stops me. “I want to thank you for saving my life and I’m sorry that you got hurt.” “No problem you are my family even if you smell.” “Thanks, dog.” She reaches towards me and hugs me tightly. I’m stunned I can’t believe it Rose hugging me. I hear Edward’s laugh from downstairs and I know that he has read my mind. After the embrace I head to Nessie’s room and fall into the bed. I instantly fall asleep.

Jake?

Nessie are you ok?

Yes Jake I just need rest.

Where are we?

We are in our house.

How I was just at the main house.

It’s called a dream Jake.

But how?

How do we do a lot of things Jake? We are freaks of nature.

I laugh and play with her curly hair. I can’t believe I’m dreaming it feels so real.

It is real Jake.

I suddenly wake up from my slumber and run to family room. I search for Nessie but I don’t see her why would they move her and not tell me. “Bells!!!” “What Jake?” “Where is Nessie?” “She is at your house.” “Why didn’t anyone wake me?” “Nessie didn’t want us to. She said you needed to rest.” “Oh.” I race to our home at top speed. When I make it to the front door I hear my wife giggle. GOD I have missed that sound the sweetest sound I know. My life is finally perfect.
