Omg legit ya'll need to stop writing "he picked her up bridal style". BITCH THERE ARE OTHER WAYS OF PICKING SOMEONE UP.
I see this the most in "Adopted By" stories where the band member will pick up their teenage daughter "bridal style." Like NUH UH BIOTCH YOU'RE GONNA PICK UP YOUR DAUGHTER LIKE A NORMAL DAD WOULD SHE'S EITHER GETTIN A PIGGY BACK OR RESTING ON YOUR HIP.

And even if a character is picking up another character "bridal style" you can use more descriptive words than that. "Bridal style" is just so overused and it makes me cringe everytime I see it.
So PLEASE just try to be more descriptive and use more variety in your writing. Thanks.
Also if used appropriately like at a wedding or a honeymoon (but that should be it) it's okay to use. Just use it sparingly, okay?
