Okay okay okay. I get it, you want to see more diversity on Wattpad, and I'm all here for that. In fact, my first book ever posted on here has a Jamaican-American girl as the main character.
But I don't see why you have to FORCE IT DOWN WRITERS' THROATS!!!
Diversity for the sake of diversity is just disgusting. It's basically using people of color to get more views and to get more people to like your book. (It's low key racist okay)
Also, if somebody is writing something in a historical setting, like the U.K. In the 70s, there's not going to be a lot of people of color, sorry.
Representation and diversity is important, yes. But for the love of god please don't force writers to make their stories more diverse. A lot of times white writers write white characters because it's what they're familiar with, and they don't want to offend other ethnicities by misrepresenting them.
Sometimes forced diversity can ruin the quality of an author's book because they are writing in unfamiliar territory. Just let writers write, and if you want more diversity, write your own story instead of trying to force it on other authors.
