Oh won't you come down

And take my breath away

Man in the moon

Let's be friends for a day

Planet Earth gets pretty lonely

With just seven billion souls

And what's it to you

Just shades of blue

A beautiful reality

Beneath the maps of stars

And random scribbles of space

Sometimes I'd like a friend

To take me a better place

Outside its so very different

Though fireflies leave when its too cold

I watch the passing cars

And wish for life on Mars

A somewhat better reality

I wish for Venus tears

And I travel down my highway of stars

I keep my time in quiet nights

I tried to run from how and are

I run and run

Away from the sun

I'm lost enough but the night's still young

Planet Earth is a shade of blue

Aliens watching me and you
