Chapter 4

We pulled into Lexie's driveway and we unloaded all of the stuff we bought and we put it in her garage along with all of the rest of the stuff we already had. We took our dresses out and we went to my house.

It was 1 o'clock when we got to my house so I ran up to my bathroom and fixed my makeup and changed my shirt then went back down.

Lexie said "damn I have a hot best friend!"

I replied, "aw thanks babe!"

She asked "is he coming here to get you or are you meeting him somewhere?"

"I'm meeting him at Olive Garden so I gotta get going, I'll be back by 3:30 and we can get ready for the dinner tonight together!"

Lexie said "alright sounds good! Try to behave!"

I responded "but that's never any fun!" I flashed her a smile, grabbed my purse and walked out the door just as I got to my car my phone buzzed.

I stopped and dug it out of my purse and saw the message was from Derek it read, "Hey Addie, I'm really sorry something came up I gotta go to work and I'll be working all night, can we meet up again to go over party details?" I thought to myself, party details? I thought he mostly just wanted to talk about what happened last night.

I replied "Um okay, talk to you later." Truthfully I was bummed because I really wanted to see him.

I walked back into my house and Lexie said "forget your lipgloss?"

I replied "he just texted me and canceled."

"Awe sorry babe"

"it's alright I get to spend the afternoon with you!"

We went to the basement and turned on a movie in our home movie theatre. We decided to watch Safe Haven mainly because of how hot Josh Duhamel is. It was about 3:30 when the movie was over so we went to my room and began getting ready.

We curled our hair exactly the same, did our makeup similar, and put on our dresses. We like to dress up alike because...well I don't really know but we always have! It was 4:30 by the time we were ready to go which was perfect cause it's gonna take us about 40 minutes to drive there.

Just as we walked out the door my mom called

"Hey Add are you on your way?"

"Yes mom we are leaving right now so I gotta go"

"Okay drive safe I love you"

"Love you too"

I hung up and got in my car. I threw my heels in the back and left. Lexie said

"So why did Derek cancel on you?"

"He said something came up and he had to work. I don't know."

"Hmm well maybe you guys can go out this weekend"

"Yeah maybe."

The benefit dinner was at the Odyssey restaurant, I always love coming here because it's up on a high cliff and the view is so pretty, especially as the sun is setting. We pulled up and the vallet helped us out and we headed in. We could hear the music and we looked at each other and rolled our eyes cause it's always the most boring classical music. If our parents are gonna make us come to these things they should let us help them pick out the music.

We walked in and found our parents immediately since they were standing up front greeting people. My dad kissed Lexie and I on the cheek and told us we looked beautiful as always. In unison we said "thanks, you don't look half bad yourself!" We kissed him on the cheek and we hugged our mothers then we went and found our table so we could sit down. As we were walking to our table we passed the dessert table so of course we had to stop. We each got a little something and we were standing there talking as we were eating. My back was the the entrance and Lexie was standing in front of me. All the sudden Lexie's eyes got big and she said "what the hell?"

I turned around to see none other than Derek Hayes. The first thing I noticed about him was that he was wearing a tux that was tight in all the right places to show off his amazing body. The second thing I noticed about him was that he had Bianca Taye hanging on his arm.
