Chapter 16: Jump the queue

Anthena's P.O.V

I walked to school because my school is just a stone throw from my house. I was still thinking about Rowell's question last night. Should I accept it or not? If I don't, then it will hurt his feelings. If I do, then is it worth it? I'm very confused whether to accept it or not.

I was looking to my left and right. Pretty sure there's no car so I crossed the road. Suddenly, I heard someone screaming "Careful, Ann!" I looked to my right, the car was very fast so I quickly run to the other side of the road. Phew! That almost hit me. I heard the voice again "Please look to your left and right before you cross the road, you idiot" said Jaq and I just nodded even though I've looked to my left and right. We walked together to the school. I continue thinking about the question last night.

"Weren't you?" said Jaq. I made my confused face as I didn't know what she is talking about.

"What?" I replied and she slapped my hand but she really looks angry.

"Stop daydreaming! It can cause you death!" shouted Jaq. That really got me snapped out of my daydream.

"I'm sorry, what were you talking about just now?" I asked.

"I was asking, you and Neiger are fighting, weren't you?" she said.

"Um.. I don't see it that way, I just rejected him" I replied and she looked confused.

"He told me that you guys are in a fight" her eyebrows shot up.

"Well we're not, okay? We're here. Let's go" I pointed the school building and she just nodded.

We arrived at the school. There I saw this tall and muscular guy, Rowell, standing right infront of the school gate.

"So? What's your answer gonna be? It started from today tho" he asked.

"So.. can you give me more time?" I replied because I'm not sure yet with what my decision would be.

"What about after school?" his face turned into a frown.

"Okay" was the only word I said and I continued walk through the school with Jaq.

As soon as the bell rang, me and Jaq went to the canteen. The canteen was so crowded. We had to queue and buy our foods but it seemed like a bunch of stupid kids had jump the queue in the front line. I was pissed off and so was Jaq.

"Those idiots! I'm hungry right now and they don't fucking think about the others especially me!" she looked very pissed off so she started walking towards them. She was stomping her feet and the stupid kids were looking at her.

"What the fuck are you guys thinking? Did you think, you can just jump the queue and buy the foods faster than us? What about the other people who had wait for half an hour, you damn bastards!?!" her eyes widened.

"Who the hell are you? How dare you speak to us like that?!" a girl demanded her.

"I'm a human and you are too. Please show some respects to the others. We share this school together so why don't you guys just bring your ass-es to the back and line up like a normal kids?" she tried to calm herself.

"Okay.. okay, girl. You see, we're sorry" one of the boys took a step out and his mouth curved into a smile.

"Thank you very much" Jaq walk to me and went back in line."Phew! That was close. I didn't want to see the principal just because of this. I'm glad that I didn't get them hurt or I get hurt or whatever" she let out a breath of relief.

The kids were at the back and queued just like Jaq told them to. After having our lunch, the bell rang a sign that recess had finished. We went to our class back and studied for another hours. I saw a note in my bag, it was from Neiger. The note says:

I'm sorry for the other day. Meet me after school at the front gate?

Neiger.

I guess he was getting better now of what had happened to us.

Class had finally ended. Jaq promised to meet me at the front gate too because she was gonna meet a teacher. I walked alone to the front gate and saw Rowell there.

"Have you think enough about it?" he bit his bottom lips hoping that I accept it.

"I.." I wanted to reply but Neiger interrupted me.

"Come here, Ann" Neiger pulled my hand and didn't care about Rowell at all instead he gave his dirty look to him.

"I wanna say sorry about the other day" sadness clouded his features.

"Come on. It's okay. You know I'll forgive you and actually I was the one who should say sorry to you so I'm very sorry" I gave him a half smiled.

"Nah, it's o.." as soon as Neiger wanted to reply, Jaq started to pull me from the back. Gosh! What's with the pulling my hand all about? My hand felt like it was about to fell off like a barbie's hand.

"Ann! Let's go ho.." she was about to say something and of course Rowell interrupted our conversation.

"Please! What's your answer?" he looks very desperate.
