Anthena's P.O.V
I look at Rowell's eyes. Those dark brown coloured eye of him shown the shape of desperation, pleading me to give him a chance. "Rowell I-" I said, slightly trying to put myself a little distance from him. "Ann please.."
Damn, Rowell, stop it. You are making me feel guilty.
I bite my lower lips, looking at the other direction. I look to the left, where Neiger and Jaq are currently standing. Jaq is mouthing some words, which I believe meant "tell him" I nodded, facing my vision back to Rowell.
"Rowell.. I-I.. I'm afraid I can't accept it. I'm sorry Rowell.. I'm really are" I look straight into his eyes. His face turned pale and he quickly faced the other way.
"It's..okay. I get it. I'm sorry for hoping too much. So, bye then?" he fake a chuckle, waving a little goodbye and turn his back to me, walking away.
Neiger's P.O.V
The talk was finally over, leaving Ann standing there, staring down. Jaq went to her, patting Ann from the back. I smiled half-hearted to Ann and she smiled back.
I know you're not okay, Ann.
"Ann, let's go. I'll walk you both home" I offered them. She nodded, a sign that she accepted my offer.
Ann and I walk down the street, side by side. Jaq's mom called her just now, she was asked to buy a few things for their dinner tonight ; which made Jaq goes "Ugh! why now?!" but goes to the mall anyway.
It was pretty awkward between us, which I don't prefer at all. I tried humming a few songs, but my voice cracked instead. I also tried to make some jokes but it seemed like the situation is getting more awkward.
"Damn" I cursed under my breath, earning a little giggle beside me. It was Anthena.
"Why are you giggling? Is there something funny?" I rosed my eyebrows. Ann shook her head, her lips forming a thin smile. "It was you"
"Me?" I pointed my index finger to myself, asking disbeliefly. "What's so funny about me?"
"You're cute." She smiled, looking down the street. Gosh, why is it hot? "The way you tried to make the situation least awkward, its cute."
"Well, atleast I tried?" I smiled looking down to her. Her smile vanished into a frown.
"Anthena" no response.
"Anthena look at me" she tilted her head up.
"Its amazing isn't?"
She rosed her eyebrows. "What?"
"It's amazing how a little girl with a small heart and dark past still be able to be strong when its hard." She blinked her eyes innocently.
"Well yeah. Kinda strong tho" she nodded, kicking a few stones on the street.
"and do you know who the little girl is?" she nodded again.
"Its you. A little Anthena with small heart with dark past. A little Anthena who always smile though its hard. Anthena tried not to hurt other's feeling, although she knows she'll be the one who's hurting." She blinked her eyes.
"W-what are you talking about?"
"You know Ann, when I was a little boy, I'll cry whenever my pet died. And the bullies of my class called me coward for that. And of course, being an idiot Neiger myself, I cried into my grandma's arm. I told her everything. She patted my back, saying its okay not to be okay but she died a week after in a car crash. I cried, and cried. I dont want to go to school, and my classmates called me a coward. But then I threw my bag towards them, saying that my grandma was the best gift of my life, and its okay to cry when you're hurt."
"What a pity little Neiger.."
"I know right" I smiled, ruffling her hair. "But I'm a strong Neiger now."
She look up. "Why are you telling me this?"
"To tell you it's okay not to be okay."
"But I'm fine-"
"We're here." We stopped our track, looking up to Ann's house. "I should be going now, goodbye Ann." I waved, slowly turning my back.
"oh, and Ann." She turned her back facing me.
"stay strong"
Rowell's P.O.V
Why did she rejected me? I was so sure that she was gonna accept..no..help me. I shouldn't be sad. There's a lot more other girls that is hotter than her.
I went to my Nic's house. We often hangout together there.
"Hey, bro, so have you found anyone yet?" Ken asked and widened his eyes. They burst out laughing and I look at them.
"Not yet. Hey, it's just the first day" I tried to be cool. Suddenly, I felt someone tapped my back.
"Dude, chill out. We were just playing around" it was Gary and they all started laughing again.
We all ended up getting drunk that night.
Anthena's P.O.V
It was the day after I rejected Rowell. I felt sorry for him but he'll find another girl that is willing to help him.
Today, my uncle, aunt, Neiger, Jaq and I went to visit my grandma's grave. I brought a bouquet of her favorite flower. Suddenly, I saw Jay coming towards us. How did he know?
"Hi, Ann" he smiled, rubbing the back of his neck shyly.
I smiled, "Hey Jay"

We are heading home after we've done. Jay stopped me at the entrance.
"I wanted to say goodbye. I'm going back today so please take this" he gave me a blue box. I opened it and saw a shiny necklace with a heart shape on it.
"Thank you so much, Jay" I hugged him.
"Make sure to take a good care of this. It worth my soul to buy it." he jokes, patting my head.
"I won't. I promise" I gave him the sweetest smile.
He had his last words to me and he started to walk to his car. I waved at him and he waved me back.
He's the best kind of man.
He left and we all went home. I was so happy that I met him. It's been years and waiting for him is worthy.
