Chapter Seven: Between A Rock And A Hard Place, The Rock Being Kol and The Hard Place Being Killian

"Legend says, when you can't sleep at night, It's because you're awake in someone else's dreams."

"Kol," I whisper. "Kol."

"Yes?" His voice is slightly slurred from sleep.

"He is hurting me." I lower my voice even more. The Russian mafia guy is practically crushing me into him.

"Killian!" Kol says loudly. I flinch. I had wanted Kol to maybe push him off me so I could get out of here. What if Russian dude beats me up for causing him trouble. The amount of sparks I'm feeling should be comforting but it just reminds me a total stranger, (Who just got out of prison) is shoving my head to his chest. Kol says his name loudly again.

"Fuck I'm going." He snaps and loosens his hold on me. I try to scoot out and get smooshed into Kol. How are we all fitting on this thing? I try to sit up and get stopped by Kol's head on my stomach. I don't want to be stuck in bed with a just-out-of-prison strange guy. I want up.

"Kol," I start sweetly. "Get off. Get him off too."

"Ma douce disp-"

"Don't." I tell him. He will try to convince me to just sleep and I don't want anymore nightmares about him.

"Fine. Killian!" He bellows again.

"Shit. Let me fucking sleep! Or so help me-"

"Babe, let go of ma douce disparition. She already slept." Kol's voice is slightly slurred. Neither move a muscle for a moment. Then at the same time move to release me. I stumble to a standing position. Looking down at them I watch as Kol flips over to face the door.

"Don't leave the house without telling me." Kol's voice is a murmur. I start walking toward the door.

"Okay." I close the door behind me. Walking down the hall I see Kaden and Keith huddled close and whispering.

"Hey, love." Kaden winks at me. His aussie accent seems to affect me even more as I feel a rush of heat travel down my body. I bite my lip and walk over to the kitchen island. I lean back and look at both of them. Keith has his eyes on the ground. His shoulders a little slumped. He has slight bags under his eyes. I study him. His cheeks are hollow and his hair is brushed. Kaden's green eyes flash blue as he watches me. His attention moving over my face. My hand comes up to my face and I run a hand through my hair. Smoothing it down.

"Hey," I blink. My familiar ringtone starts up and my eyes flash and focus on Keith's clenched hand. His fingers are clasped around my phone. How did he keep getting ahold of it? I hold out my hand and Keith's eyes switch back and forth between Kaden and I.

"Keith." My voice is sharp. He steps close to me and holds my eyes as he drops the phone into my hand. My back hits the island and my head tilts back. He stays there. Invading and hot. His breath hits my face in a brush of minty heat. My lips part and our eyes lock in an intense stare down. His fingertips are the only thing touching me. His other hand settles right next to my hip on the counter.

His tongue flicks out and he licks his bottom lip in one quick sweep. I swallow. Clenching my hand around my still ringing phone. If I move too much I'll be touching him. He seems to be waiting for me to do something. I pull back and look at my phone answering.

"Kelly," I greet as I turn my head to look at Keith again. He moves back in one graceful move. Resuming his casual position against the counter. Kaden watches on with a wary expression.

"I'm in front." She tells me. "Come unlock the door."

"Yeah. Okay." I agree and turn walking out quickly. I feel Kaden's hand settle on my back. I unlock the door and pull it open. Kelly stands there looking tired with big bags under her eyes. Her blonde hair is in a messy bun and she wears an outfit that is similar to the one I was wearing when I drove.
