Chapter Nine: Rage
"Anger is a momentary madness, control your passion or it will control you."
I knew it was going to happen. I was going to get mad. I always do. After seeing my mother, I always react the same way. A familiar rush of anger sweeps through me. The feeling doesn't happen until we are in the mile long driveway of my house. I don't even look at Kelly. If I do I'll explode. I need to get to my bedroom and be alone.
"I'll get the groceries." Kelly says. Her voice is soft. It makes me even more mad. My mother has so much control over me. I don't ever get the courage to say what I want. Some tiny childish part of me wants her to admit, just once that she loves me and is proud.
"You do that." I snap flashing a glare. I have a horrible habit of being terribly rude in this state. "Fast. Then leave."
"Okay." She says it softly and she gets out. I do too. Slamming the door. I turn to the house. There they are. All four of them. Matching concerned looks.
I scowl at all of them. I know logically that this is my fault. That I keep setting myself up for this.
Kelly keeps her eyes down as she carries at least a dozen bags on each of her arms. She looks tiny. It pisses me off more. Kaden opens the door and takes the bags from her, smiling. That just causes an ugly jealousy to form in the pit of my stomach. I need to get to my room. A part of me wants to go back to my mother and tell her that she isn't the boss of me.
"Baby do-" Killian stops the sing-song call at my glare. He puts his hands up in the air, surrendering.
"Move." I bite out. Making my way to the front door. Kol raises a brow. Keith watches me emotionlessly. His blue eyes a storm. Killian has a wicked gleam in his eyes as he steps right into my path. Kelly walks past me to head to her car. I hear a trunk slam.
"Baby doll," I tilt my head back to meet his grey-blue eyes. "You look angry."
"Fucking move." I grind out glaring.
"No." His russian accent makes the word come out thicker.
"No?" I speak through my teeth. "Move."
"Make me." He winks and leans down to get in my face.
"Mature." I acknowledge. I decide to move around him and step to the right. He mimics me. In a body language class, I took a while back it explained, that when you're attracted to someone you tend to mimic their positions. Somehow, I don't think this is the same thing. "Let me through."
"No." He eyes my clenched fists.
"Killian." I warn.
"Jasmine." He mocks. He smoothes his expression slightly.
"Killian." My voice raises. In the background I hear Kelly's car drive off.
"Baby doll." He matches my tone of voice. Jerk.
"Mon géant," I start. If anyone can get this bastard to move Kol will. Kol turns his eyes to mine. "Please move him. I just want to go lay down."
"Move," Kol pushes Killian in the arm. As easy as that Killian is out of the way. I walk past them quickly. Beginning to push the anger down and in my box. My face becomes blank. A big hand wraps around my upper arm and stops my walk. I turn my head to see Kaden. His green eyes shine like gems in the late afternoon light.
"Love," He holds my eyes. "Don't put that wall up. We can get you your money back. I don't know what that women-"
I had forgotten that they must have heard everything. Embarrassment floods through me. I push it down and glare at him. "Don't. That is none of your business, Kaden."
