You sat in your decorated bedroom way too confused and overwhelmed with the man your father wanted you to marry. You haven't even seen the guy and you are sure as hell you wouldn't want to commit your life to someone you don't even know.

Your father, the king of the Victorian Kingdom, was a very important man. And you're the princess, a very important woman, besides the queen, or your mother.

Your "wedding" was in a month and you wanted to find someone before you marry that unknown man.

At this point you were frustrated, so you decided to go outside to take a walk in your garden. Yeah you had a garden, but sadly it wasn't named after you. It was named after someone else but you didn't mind the origin.

You put on your comfortable shoes and stepped out into the open air. All you wore was a simple dinner-like dress and you didn't mind it. Your parents always wanted you in those silk gowns with jewels, but you usually liked the simple ones better.

Into the garden, you were surrounded by big trees and very colorful flowers. You loved it here, it was quiet and nature was just breathtaking.

You made it to the middle of the garden and took a seat in the open grass. The fresh air calmed you down; the pretty plants made you forget about your "wedding".

All of a sudden in your peaceful moment, a man stepped into your view. By the looks of his poor clothing and appearance, he seemed to be one of the peasants.

He was holding a shovel and a bag of dirt, and he was already dirty. His hair was matted down and his eyes looked tired.

But something about that man looked rather pleasing to you.

"Good day, M'lady." The peasant greeted you bowing his head towards you. "Good morning, peasant." You replied waving. You weren't mean to lower class-men, but more generous because they don't have what you have.

"You wouldn't mind if I turn the soil here between these plants? They need soft ground." The peasant asked politely. You nodded, motioning for him to continue.

"Of course, peasant. Go ahead." You watched as the man bend down and start shoveling the dirt, turning it over and careful not to get it on the flowers.

"Beautiful day isn't it?" The peasant asked, turning his eyes to you, because it would be rude if he didn't.

"It is. The sun is out and it's not too hot." You said smiling looking up at the blue sky.

The peasant started panting heavily. You put your head back down and saw him leaning on his shovel. You looked to your side and called out for the man.

"Why don't you sit! You're probably very tired." You pointed out, patting a spot next to you. You offered a seat for the poor man and he took it willingly.

"Thank you, madam. I've been working since morning." The peasant told as he adjusted on the grass next to you. You looked at the dirty man.

"Then you should deserve a break." You giggled sitting back, your arms holding you up from behind. You looked up at the sky again and around the garden. It really did calm you down.

Although there was a feeling that someone was watching you.

"Has anyone ever told you you're very pretty, M'lady?" The peasant asked smiling at you. He was probably staring. You turned to him and he had a goofy smile on that could make you laugh.

"Everyone, actually." You playfully scoffed. "Being the king and queen's daughter really gets you a lot of compliments...maybe too much." You laughed. The man also laughed.

"Well they aren't lying." He turned his eyes up at the sky just like how you were.

"What's your name, peasant?" You asked turning to him.

"My name is Ross, M'lady." The peasant, or Ross, replied with a grin.

"Well it's nice to meet you Ross. You know, not many people like you usually talk to me." You pointed out sitting back up. You began to play with the grass blades below you.

"Maybe they're afraid of you."

"They're probably afraid of my father. He likes to keep the different classes separate." You said the second part in a more annoyed tone.

Ross nodded, also sitting back up.

"I heard you're getting married." Ross began. You sighed nodding your head down.

"I am. And I don't like it." "Why not?" "I don't even know who I'm marrying. It's ridiculous!! I want to know someone before I have to live with them forever!"

Ross sat in silence, not knowing what to say. But he thought of something.

"Maybe you should find someone to talk to. And maybe you'll get to like them and have a good reason to marry them." Ross smiled at you.

You thought about the idea; it seemed very effective. But then you thought about Ross and you grinned.

"What if I already found someone to talk to?"

You turned your full body towards Ross. Ross only turned his head towards you and he had an eyebrow raised.

"Oh really?" He ruffled his hair a bit. "Who?"

"You."

Ross' eyes widened as they looked at you. You just smiled innocently at him hoping he'll accept the fact that you probably like him.

"M'lady–"

"(Y/N)."

"M'lady I don't think I'm allowed to say your name–"

"It's fine! I don't mind." You smiled.

"(Y/N)," Ross began; he chuckled at himself when he said your real name. "I am beyond flattered!"

"I think I might have a liking towards you, Ross." You nodded moving your hair out of your face as the wind blew.

"But what will your father say?" Ross asked, panic in his voice rising. You chuckled to make his nerves calm down.

"I'll make sure he won't behead you." You winked before moving over to Ross.

You moved to the side and kissed his cheek, even though there was a thin layer of dirt on it.

"You should go back to work, the guards might see you and think you're lazy." You patted Ross' back before getting up.

You left Ross in the garden entering your kingdom home. You were going to confront your father, and make sure he wouldn't kill anyone.
