You get insecure

You've always felt like you were never pretty enough. Compared to all the other girls in camp, your hair was never super shiny, nor did you wear your hair up in many different styles, nor did you feel as skinny and athletic as the rest of them. You were jus....boring you. (This is all for the one shot. DO NOT BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY U GUYS R UGLY. EACH AND EVERY ONE OF U IS PERFECT JUST THE WAY U R. OKAY? U GUYS R BEAUTIFUL!!)

So here you were, laying down on your bed in your cabin, questioning why in the world would Nico ask YOU to be his girlfriend? Nico. Son of the god of the Underworld, Mr. Sexy Shy guy. Sure you were pretty, but compared to everyone else at camp, you felt like a pigeon standing in a group of swans.

'What does Nico see in me?' You thought, disgusted with yourself.

As if he were summoned, Nico knocks on your cabin door.

"Y/N? You in there, baby?" He asks.

You don't answer.

"I know your're in there, Y/N, just open the door. You skipped lunch today, and I got worried when I didn't see you. You know, because, well...you love food and all" he mumbled the last part.

'Oh...so now he's calling me fat. Perfect Nico. Way to worsen my mood' you thought.

"Okay. Y/N, I know perfectly well you are in this cabin. You are always either at the Dining Povilion, or here. You hate training, and would much rather take a nap in here. So open the door please!" He pleads.

You don't answer him.

"That's it! I'm coming in!" He slams the door open to find you curled up on your bed. He immediately furrows his brows in worry and sits down on your bed.

"Everything okay babe?" He asks.

"Oh everything is just fine. Besides the fact that I'm an ugly, fat, lazy butt of a demigod." You grumble.

Nico just stares at you like you grew two heads, then he glares at you and demands, "Now who the Hades told you THIS?!"

You look up at him then look away.

"No one. Just forget it" you say, standing up and turning your back to him.

"Oh no you don't. You look at me and tell me who the HADES told you these things. WHO DO I NEED TO KILL TODAY?! You know what, I bet you it was Valdez. That elf doesn't know when to take things seriously when it comes to his jokes. Where is he?! When I get my hands on him I'm go-" you cut off his rambling.

"NICO!! It wasn't Leo!" You yell.

"Well then WHO WAS IT?!" He questions.

"You, you moron!" You reply.

He's taken aback by your answer, but quickly recovers.

"Me? Me?! I told you you're fat?! I told you, you were ugly and lazy?! I did? Your boyfriend?!" He says, emphasizing the "boyfriend" part.

"Well, you basically did. You told me just now that I'm always at the Dining Pavilion, which is calling me fat. You said I hate to train and I would rather be napping, which in other words is calling me lazy" you retort.

"Woah, woah, woah. Okay I did say those things, but the way you interpreted them was never my intention nor thought about how you are. But Y/N, that's one of reasons I fell in love with you. You love to eat, and you never cared who judged you until now. Yet how you still manage to keep that perfect body of yours the same, I will never know. And yes, I'll admit, you are lazy. But I love it because I can be lazy with you, and we take naps together almost all the time. So don't you dare say you are fat and imperfect. Because to me, there can never be a more beautiful you in this whole wide world. So shut up about saying those things about yourself" he ends his speech with a bone crushing hug.

You let the tears fall as you bury your head into the crook of his neck. When he feels that you are crying, Nico just tightens the hug even more. After a few moments, he let's you go only to grab your shoulders and make you look at him.

"I love you Y/N. You are so beautiful and brave, and not to mention sarcastic. I fell in love with all of your quirks because they make you you. So don't let it get to you that you aren't beautiful. There could never be a more beautiful Y/N in this world than the one who I can call mine and is standing here before me"

You are so touched by his words, you can't control yourself as you grab his face and kiss him with all your might.
Nico responds immediately by wrapping his arms around your waist, and deepening the kiss to where you both are pouring all the love you have for each other into that one kiss.

You guys break away, desperate for oxygen as you both pant heavily.

"I love you Nico. So, so much. I'm glad I can call you mine" you whisper against his lips.

"I love you more, bella. And I always will" he whispers back, planting a kiss on your lips once more.

"C'mon. Let's take nap" Nico suggests.

Without giving a reply, you jump into bed and snuggle under the covers.

Nico just chuckles, but joins you under the covers, wrapping his arms around your waist and kisses the back of your neck.

"Sweet dreams love" Nico whispers.

"Shut up, I'm trying to sleep" you grumble.

"Hehe. Love you too" Nico says, as he snuggles up against your back and you both fall asleep.
