Tobias pov

I walked through tris's opened door into the party. The stench of alcohol came to my nose. Making me cringe.

It smelt just like Marcus.

I surveyed my surroundings.
Music blared all around in the massive apartment. This is the biggest apartment I have ever seen, no, it's the biggest house I've ever seen.

There was what looks to be about four bedrooms with bathrooms attached. A massive living room that had tons of games: board, table, and virtual.

A ginormous kitchen with a large mahogany table and deep brown leather benches. The cabinets were black that had metal knobs. The counters were an earthy granite.

All in all the house looked nice.
Nothing like my old...living space. That's all it will ever be. A home is supposed to be warm and comforting, but that place was never comforting-nor warm.

Sweaty bodies huddled together in a cleared out part of the living room -dancing to the beat of the music.

Others gathered in small groups talking to each other sipping on alcohol. Everyone seemed to be having the time of their lives.

I passed by black clothed bodies on my way searching for tris. The girl I wish was mine.

~*~

Tris seems to not be here. I've looked just about everywhere. I haven't gone up the stairs. It's not right. I shouldn't snoop around a house I was welcomed in.

Everyone now is covered in sweat from dancing. Personally I can't dance and to be honest I don't want to learn. Dancings never sparked an interest.

I can here dressed in black jeans and a black v-neck tee. Casual dauntless outfit. Everybody else seems to be all dressed up. Wearing the most flashy and daring outfits they could.

"Alright everyone whoever isn't my friend, a family member of mine, or a new transfers get out!" A sweet voice called out behind me. I turned to see the speaker and my night brightened quite a bit.

It was tris.

Excitement flowed through my veins. She was here. Right in front of me.

Everyone pilled out besides the pedrads, the transfers, and a couple of blonde girls.

~*~

The one of the edgy looking blonde girls was named Shauna. And the other more gentler looking girls was named Lynn.

We were halfway to not a game of what they call 'Candor or Dauntless'. You basically pick candor for a truth you have to tell. Or dauntless for a dare you have to do.

"Hey stiff, candor or dauntless?" Uriah asked. Hm, they actually called on me. They called me a stiff but nonetheless.

"Candor" I replied shortly. The dares were too outrageous and wild for me.

"Figures. Okay...why did you transfer?" He asked curiously. My breath hitched. I didn't expect such a personal question.

"I wanted a new and better life" I said after a long pause. It wasn't a lie. I did want a new life. Away from abnegation. And most importantly away from Marcus.

They nodded in understanding but the questions were swimming in their eyes.
It was my turn to ask. And I already knew who and what I was going to ask.

"Tris...Are you dating anyone?" I ask in pure curiosity. Tris looked rather shocked. Wether it was because I spoken or because of the question I asked. I don't really know.

Just the thought of tris with another man made my blood boil. I feel like ripping someone to shreds. I masked my anger no matter how hard it was.

Everyone seemed to listen very closely. Obviously to see her reaction and hear her response better. A few had curiosity or jealousy in their eyes. Expecting, knowing her answer.

Uriah and Zeke seemed to pay the most attention. Anger rolling off of them. Waiting for her response before they blow.

"No I'm not. Why would you ask such a thing" she laughed. Everyone visibly relaxed. My mood brightened extremely. Hopeful thoughts swimming in my head.

"Alright everyone time to head home. It's pretty late, and you all have training tomorrow." Uriah said firmly. Everyone grumbled but got up and left.

I got up also. Quickly I made my way to the door. But was stopped by a gentle hand on my bicep.

I looked down and saw a beautiful pair of hazel eyes. That belong to the girl that stole my heart...Tris Pedrad.

Puzzled I stared at her. She stared back comfortingly. If it wasn't for the age gap I would have kissed her just then.

"Tobias, right?" She asked. They way my named sounded from her voice almost made me melt.

"Uh...yeah?" I stupidly replied. I mentally punched myself in the face. I sounded completely retarted.

"Okay then," she chuckled,"I'd like to be friends." I raised my eyebrows in shock and question. She wants to be friends...?

I'd like to be more than friends. But I guess I have to take baby steps to my dream. I just nodded, at lost for words.

She smiled at me warmly before wrapping her arms around me. Warmth and happiness spread through me. Her slim body fit perfectly against mine.

Almost as if she was made for me.

I wrapped my arms around her and signed in content. This is the happiest I've ever been. But it dint last long. She withdrew from me. Leaving me cold from loss of her warmth.

She smiled once more before jogging up the stairs mostly likely to her room. I stood there smiling beyond happy.

I finally gained some sense and left. Still all giddy inside, I made my way to the barracks.
