Tris
All the initiates jumps pass by in a blur.
Their screams echoing in the compound. I swear they all sound like prissy little girls. Man up!Amar walks up in front of the initiates for yet another boring speech. That I already know by heart. He then splits them up into groups. Transfers and Dauntless born.
"Alright the sorting is almost done!" Amar exclaims proudly. Puzzled I glance at him. He looks from me to Uri.
"What?" Me and Uri say together. The initiates pay close attention to our conversation.
"Well, I was wondering would you rather train the dauntless born or the transfers?" He asks rather quickly. Hm, well the dauntless born would be less fun to train but also less frustrating. And the transfers would be a lot of fun to break but not so much fun to deal with.
"Both" me and uri announce. Amar looks puzzled for a split second before his face lits up.
"That works, you could probably switch ever other day" he states. Me and uri look at each other briefly, before nodding in agreement. Sounds like the best of both worlds.
"Okay that settles it! Lauren you have dauntless borns, I'll take the transfers" Amar says. Lauren nods in approval, before walking off with the dauntless borns.
"Okay now you will be allowed to ask questions about us the instructors" Amar tells them. Immediately all their eyes land on me and uri. Of course they'd choose us first. Our good looks and superior abilities Intrige them.
Me and uri stare at them for awhile before sighing in defeat. A scrawny erudite boy is brave enough to ask the first question.
"Are you two related?" He asks. By the looks of the others it seems they all wanted to know too.
"Twins to be exact" uri and I say at the end same time. Everyone seems shocked by this, and blinks rapidly. Which is the usual reaction for people that don't know us.
"B-but you look nothing alike!" The same erudite boy replies.
"We're fraternal twins" Uriah says in a duh-tone.
"We were born at the same. But are made of two different fertilized eggs. Making us different and genetically unique" I add. The group continues to stare for what it seems to be hours. My patience by now has vanished and so has Uri's.
"Will you stop staring. We've already explained it to you pea brains!" Me and uri hiss in anger. They all look quite takin back by our sudden anger. They will definitely need some breaking to be able to fit in here.
"Calm down you two. They're just interested that's all okay? You two go I'll finish from here. Be here by scheduled time tomorrow." Amar tells us sternly. We nod okay. Before realization kicks in for both me and Uri.
"DAUNTLESS CAKE HERE WE COME!" We shout in unison before racing off to the cafeteria. We here Amars hearty laugh in the back ground.
"Don't eat all the cake now!" He yells in a joking manner. Me and uri chuckle as we sprint down the hall.
"No promises" we yell back before we enter the cafeteria. Dauntless cake stands before us, tall and proud at the center of the room.
We both run to it. And thus the battle began. We both fight to get the most on one plate. I, of course win, by putting twelve pieces on my plate.
I balance the cake while I take a seat. Uriah sits next to me with almost as much cake as me piled on his plate.
We both rapidly scoop cake into our mouths. Sometimes I wonder how we eat so much? But then cake comes to mind and I can no longer think straight. Dauntless cake is like my kryptonite. It tastes wonderful but afterwards I feel awful.
Me and uri end up finishing the whole cake, no regrets. That was probably one of the best moments of my life. All of the chocolaty goodness. Baked perfectly to where the cake is moist and chewy. The icing jam packed with flavor. Thick and creamy layering the cake.
Uri and I are currently resting on the table with plates surrounding us. Man! My tummy does not agree with all the chocolate I ate. That has to be a new record.
The dauntless borns and transfers then walk into the cafeteria. Looking at us, some with wide eyes.
"Tris, Uriah! You weren't supposed to eat the whole cake!" Amar yells. Lauren nodding in amusement.
"The heart wants what it wants" I say. But a groan escapes as my stomach takes on half a chocolate cake.
"And the heart happens to want dauntless cake" Uriah finishes. We both sit up and groan together.
"It's okay tummy, you'll be fine" I reassure my stomach. While uri makes faces with his. Everyone look and at us strangely. Before rolling their eyes in sync.
Me and uri get up and run away before Amar can get ahold of us.
"Peace out!" We shout together and exit the cafeteria to go home. Today was a really long day. I can practically hear my pillow calling my name.
