Chapter 5: Safe Place

So at the end of the school day I wait for Megan to come by the door, but instead of finding her, I find Jayden. I pretend not to notice but he sees me anyway. He told me he wanted to write another song with me and that maybe we could hangout some time, so I agree thinking it's nothing, but Megan comes in with force saying we should start going.

So as we walk to the closest corner store, she starts freaking out about Jayden. She asked why we were talking and how we met. I just say it's not a big deal and that he is just a guy. Then she just screams out inside the store "HE'S NOT JUST A GUY STELLA". Then she freezes trying to calm down, so she says "he isn't just a guy, I found out by spying on him but he has cancer and no one knows. He has it hard because he also is a popular and the biggest player at this school". I just said "chillax because he doesn't even like me, we are just friends". So we eventually get to the safe place and it's so cool. It's a small house and it's close to a cliff and the ocean was near. She said her favorite place to be is sitting at the edge of the cliff, and to be honest its now mine too.

She shows me inside where it's a abandoned place she found one day and she then had it all to herself. She said no one remembers it, so it costs her nothing. She asked if I wanted to go near the shore to see the turtle eggs, and I said definitely. So we go to shore and see the turtle eggs and we start running around and getting to know each other. She had a small family but her parents were still together, except paid no attention to her. She had no friends even though she has been in the same place for six years. She has a little brother and a older one, but her parents favored her little brother and forgotten about her older brother and he moved out two years ago.
