173. Elemental Lord (Part 1)

Archelous and Vasile were sitting alone at the dining table at Castle of Spears eating roast dinner. Both youngsters were sitting quietly and not making eye contact. There was total silence for duration of the meal except for sounds of the cutlery on the plates. There was tension in the room. Plenty of tension. In fact the tension was so high that no one else was willing to sit in the dining room. Donavan and Azalea had chosen to spend time in the living room eating while watching broadcasting spheres showing news from Arkansas and elsewhere. The guards were also dismissed by Azalea to stay in the underground under Bran Castle.

The danger from Archelous and Vasile when they were having a fall out was nothing anyone wanted to endure and no one wanted to risk getting between them at all costs.

It was Archelous who finished his dinner first and tried to reach for the whiskey as he waved his hands but the whiskey didnt move from its spot next to Vasile.

Archelous reluctantly spoke "Pass me the whiskey, Vasile."

Vasile looked up and then spoke in a sarcastic tone "Are you sure you want to drink? Your buddy may summon you tonight to talk to you. Get drunk at his place. Why dont you?"

Archelous rolled his eyes "My kind dont get drunk and give it a rest. Will you? I am serious Vasile. I have heard enough of your sarcasm. For the last time. He is not my buddy. The only reason I talk with him is because my father has given his word to his father to protect his people."

Vasile's expression changed. He banged his fist on the table "His people?"

Archelous spoke "You must give up on this feud with your cousin. He is an elemental lord. Those ancient elementals his father has managed to gather when travelling the globe in the past two decades are his people and they are your people too if you choose to join him in Stonehenge Castle he has managed to rebuild. You are their family. They have nothing against you.

Vasile spoke " Why cant you see it. They are trying to establish Valerian bloodlines in the open. My family are a secret society. Valerians are secretive. We have survived to stay loyal to our values because we are hidden from the rest of the world."

Archelous spoke "Look where it got you people who want to hide. Your people became spread out over years. Dante walked all over Transylvania and your people couldnt do anything because they were not united. They were scattered around the world because of this notion you must hide away from forming societies and resist change and adapting. Guess what. Times have changed. This is it. This is the dark era after the prophecy by Dante has come true. The Valerians must save themselves from being next to be ruled by the Ronas."

Vasile spoke "And they wont be, if they keep themselves hidden."

Archelous sighed "Cant you hear yourself. Hiding wouldnt get your people anywhere. Dante found your community in Transylvania. I helped you get them into an expanded part of this castle to keep them safe from Octavian and his army....."

Vasile spoke "Exactly, where was my uncle when my people needed him here in Transylvania. He is raising the high class noble army of elementals he has chosen from the world population. You say they are now in stonehenge castle. But why didnt he offer to help when the battle began."

Archelous spoke "Because Vasco wasnt of age. Now he is. He turned twenty one days ago and now he has turned into the most powerful elemental Lord of all time. He is more powerful than his father and your father. You may become like him too in three years time. Come on Vasile. You and Vasco are the Valerian Elemental Lords who would assist the Northern resistance that would be lead by Donavan. Embrace your destiny."

Vasile spoke "The prophecy doesnt say we will win."

Archelous spoke "The prophecy doesnt say you would lose either. Besides alot has changed now.... Now that he has found Arwayne."
