Chapter Five

Lexi's POV

I couldn't stop smiling all the way home and all night. All I could think of was Cameron. How he looked, how he spoke, how he kissed...

I was cut off by my phone ringing. It was Ria.

"Hello?" I asked, holding my Iphone to my ear.

"Lex? Where have you been all day? Why have you been ignoring my texts?" She said angrily.

"Sorry, Ri. I have to tell you something," I told her, smiling, even though she couldn't see me.

"What?" She was being blunt. She was angry.

"Look, Ri. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to ignore your texts. It's because I have been round... Cameron's house," I waited for her to freak out at me, but nothing.

"The new boy Cameron?" 

"Yes, the new boy Cameron" She was leaving big pauses after I spoke. 

"Why was you round there?" She said, nervously.

"Well, that's what I wanted to tell you. Me and Cameron... are... together," There was a long pause after I spoke, she was obviously thinking of what to say.

"Together?"

"Together," I said almost at the same time as her.

"You don't even know him, Lex," 

"I know him enough. Anyway, I'd thought you'd be happy for me since my last boyfriend was Harry Looper. Why are you being all funny with me, Ri?" I was annoyed at how blunt she was being and how stern. She was normally trying to get me a boyfriend, not prevent me for having one.

"No, I am happy for you. It's just, I don't want you to leave me for your new boyfriend. That's what Georgia," She trailed off and spoke with a sad tone. I do feel sorry for her as Georgia completely disowned her for her new 18 year-old boyfriend, Jonah. That's how we met. Ria was crying on the stairs during third period and I found her. She came back to mine and it went from there. 

"Ri, I won't ever leave you. You are the bestest friend ever. Why would I want to leave that?" I heard her laugh a little on the other side of the phone.

"Love you, Lex"

"Love you too, Ri" I smiled. 

"Text me yeah?" Ria said, breaking the silence between us.

"Yeah, bye" I said, waiting for a reply.

"Bye!" Ria hung up and I gave a big sigh. I can definitly not lose my best friend over a boy.
