Cameron's POV

I watched her chest move up and down gently. It told me that she was still alive. I had been at the hospital for three days. I've missed school just to be with her. I don't want to leave her.

Whilst having a nap in the chair beside Lexi's bed, a heard a faint noise. It woke me up. It sounded like screams of a woman. I walked out of the ward where Lexi was and went to investigate. I walked through the whole hospital trying to find the lady screaming. It was getting louder as I approached the terminal illness ward. There was a young girl on the floor screaming. Crying. She wasn't moving. Neither was the man in the bed in front of her. Her hands were covering her head. Her mum was sitting in a chair, head in hands crying also. She was sobbing. The nurses was trying to pick her up but she wasn't having it. I decided to move in. I read the clipboard attached to the man's bed. Cancer. I bent down to the lady and held her hand.

"I know it's hard. Someone close leaving you. But you have to stay strong, for the kids," I soothed, looking to the young toddler crying in the chair. The girl sat up and sniffed. She looked at me and tilted her head.

"Who are you?" She asked, voice wobbling as she spoke.

"Cameron Dallas," I replied, helping her stand up. Her face was blotchy from all the crying and her eyes were red blood shot. She had puffy under eyes and her nose was rosy.

"I'm Diana," She sobbed. I handed her a tissue. She blew into in, wiping away afterwards. "I want him back, Cameron," She cried again, falling into my shoulder. I rubbed her back.

"I know what if feels like. To want somebody back after they've already gone," I whispered into her ear.

"You do?" She squeaked, lifting her head from my shoulder.

"My dad died in a car crash when I was young. It was hard, but I stayed strong for my mum's sake," I told her, pushing her an arms length away.

"I'm sorry," She broke out, crying again.

"It's fine. Just, stay strong. He's in a better place now." I soothed. She was crying a bit less now, sniffing every now and again. She pulled away from my hug and smiled.

"Thank you," Diana said, wiping her face with a tissue. I nodded and walked away. I had to get back to Lexi. Just in case anything has happened.

The ward was pretty empty. Only a couple of people sat up drinking coffee in their beds watching the TV ubove them. In the corner was a old man, looking straight at me.

"She's gone mate," He shouted to me. What could he mean? Gone? Surely he wasn't talking to me. I walked to the pulled curtain where Lexi's bed layed. I swung back the curtain and saw a lady holding a man's hand.

"Where is she?" I asked sternly.

"Who?" Said the man, standing up from his bedside chair that I had been sitting in before I left.

"Where is Lexi!" I shouted, clenching my knuckles until they were white.

"Mate, I don't know what your talking about. We just got put here," He said, walking towards me. I pushed his hand away from me and ran. I ran out of the ward, into the corridors and towards the main office. There was a young blonde lady standing behind the desk with a old lady behind here.

"Where is she?" I snapped. I dropped my hands onto the desk making the lady jump.

"Excuse me sir?" She said, gently. I was interrupted by a little girl holding onto my leg. Lexi's sister.

"Camwon, wheres Wexi gone?" She said, pulling onto my trouser leg. I grabbed under her arms and pulled her upwards, lifting her up.

"Grace! Where have you been?" I asked, my mood changing in a spilt second.

"With mummy. She not telling me where Wexi gone," She told, pouting her bottom lip. I ran to her mum in the corridors talking to a doctor.

"Sally!" I shouted, from down the corridor. She turned round, with a worried look on her face.

"Hi, Cameron," She said, taking Grace from me. Her tone of voice told me something wasn't right.

"Where is she? How is she? Is she okay?" I asked, barely getting my words out. She put Grace down and said, "Go play in there, sweetie," Pushing her into a play room with other children in there.

"Lexi has gotten worse. She's not making any improvements," She paused, taking a big breath in. "They are thinking about turning the life support off,"
