Camerons POV

I felt like I've replayed my childhood. Being in a scary hospital full of sick people, only waiting for one to open their eyes again. Last time, they never did open their eyes. I was six when me and my dad went fishing. Just a normal father-son day out. It was when we was coming back home when a log lorry's brakes failed and caused a car crash. The noise that was made was unbearable. Luckily, I was able to call an ambulance as my mum taught me. All I could see was my young dad, legs trapped, blood pouring out of his head and nose. I was so scared. I couldn't move either. I had a broken leg and collar bone. I could just about reach to the phone in the glove compartment. Other cars were broken just like mine. I could hear a baby crying, a dog barking and adults screaming. It was the worst experiance of my life. I decided to call mum after.

"Hello? Where are you? You've been gone all day!" I heard my mum shout down the phone.

"Mummy. I'm scared," I told her, voice breaking.

"What? Why? What's happened? Sweetie, where's daddy?" Her voice was getting more and more worried by the minute.

"He's not waking up. We are stuck in the car. Mummy, my leg and neck hurts,"

"Have you rang the ambulance like I taught you?" She asked, trying to keep calm.

"Yes mummy," It was a couple minutes after when loud sirens went off, getting louder as they came closer. A man came to my window looking in. I waved, but then jerking my hand back down as the pain shot through my lower neck into my shoulder. He gave his co-workers a signal and they all came over to my car.

"My daddy isn't waking up! Help him!" I shouted to them. It took the whole day to get pull out of the car. When I was out, I was put on a stretcher. I saw a huge lorry on it's side, crushing cars underneath it. Other cars were smoking from the bonnet and others were fine. They had my dad on another stretcher. His head looked bad. Really bad. His legs were bleeding still to. He wasn't moving.

We got taken to a hospital where my leg and collar bone got plastered up. I was put in a wheelchair so I could still move about. But, Dad was still not moving or waking up. I remember seeing his pale face just laying there. Doing nothing. The machines beeping as his chest gently moved up and down. Mum cried every night by his bed. I didn't understand really what was going on. All I do know, is that a couple monthes passed and he still hadn't woken up. The machines beep was constant and wouldn't stop. Next thing I know, he's gone. My dad, gone. Mum cried for months. It was hard for me too. I had no idea where my dad had gone. I thought he had gone on holiday. Only, I started to realise that he had died. It still hurts to think about it. It would. He was my dad. My best friend.

That's why it is scary to be in a hospital again, for the same reason. She wasn't waking up either. Her chest moving up and down gently. Just like my dad. I didn't want to leave her side. I obviously had to, for her family to spend some time alone with her. Even then, I wanted to be with her. I wanted to stay all through the night, but I didn't want to intrude on her mum. I couldn't lot Lexi. Not now. I had only just met her. I planned to spend the rest of my life with her. Get married, have kids, grow old together. Just like a normal couple in love. I didn't want her to go, like my dad did.
