Chapter Two

Lexi' POV

That is him. The new boy. He is gorgeous. 

"Right, can you sit next to..." Sir started. 

Not me. Please not me. I thought. 

"Luella, please," My science teacher said, pointing to the blonde quiet girl that no one spoke to. I gave a sigh of relief. 

"Actually," Mr Domican questioned. No. Please no. "Can you sit next to Lexi please," Oh great. 

Cameron nodded and walked over to the empty seat next to me. He slung his backpack off his shoulder  and threw it under the table at his feet. He sat down, crossed his arms on the table and looked at me. 

"Hey," His voice was memorizing. It was a perfect pitch. Not to high and not to low. Beautiful. I could feel my heart melt like ice on a hot day. 

"Hi," I replied, whispering, trying not to draw attention from Sir. 

"Are you okay?" He asked, frowning.

"Yeah, erm," I stuttered. I couldn't speak. This never happens to me. I never choke up. He laughed under his breath and ripped a piece of paper out of my notebook. At first, I thought he needed it as he hasn't got any school equipment, but then he slid the paper back to me with a sentence on it. 

'Lexi is a beautiful name :)' 

I could feel myself blush. My underarms were sweating, as well as my forehead. I laughed, nervously and wrote:

'Cameron is a cool name too :)' 

Throughout the whole lesson, we passed notes, even when we had to discuss. It was easier to talk. I couldn't seem to fine the words to speak. It was so strange. I had never had troubles speaking the boys. Even cute ones. Why now?

As the bell went, indicating it was lunch, Cameron held onto my hand as I was about to leave. I was confused. 

"Stay with me?" He begged. I felt sorry for him as he had only just started and he hadn't made any friends. I nodded and dragged him to the benches at the back of the field. Whenever I looked at him, he was starring at me. 

I sat down on the cleanest bench of them all and got my sandwich out. I was too nervous to eat as he was starring at me.

"You not got lunch?" I asked, bluntly. 

"Er, no, mum works early and I woke up late," He replied, smiling.

"On your first day? Wow," I joked, laughing. He laughed back, bowing his head down. 

"You okay?" I asked. I put my sandwich down and looked at him. 

"Yeah, sorry, tired," He pulled a cheesy grin at me and laughed. Awkward silence. 

"Has anyone ever told you that your beautiful?" My heart jumped into my throat. I nearly choked on my water. Did he just say that?

"Er, no. No one has," I smiled, embarrassed. It was true. I hadn't had a boyfriend since Harry. He was nice. It was nothing serious. Just a silly little relationship. He hadn't even told me I was pretty. He wouldn't at the age of eleven. 

"Well, you are," He whispered, smiling. I felt my boiling cheeks, trying to cool them down. He laughed at me. This made me blush even more. 

Suddenly, my phone started ringing. 

"Hold on," I jumped off the bench and walked over to the bin.

"Hello?" I asked, answering my phone.

"Where are you!" Ria basically screamed down the phone. 

"I am with the new boy. I have to go, see you in Geography!" I instantly put the phone down and skipped back over to Cameron. 

"Everything okay?" He asked, pulling a half smile that made my heart stop. 

"Yeah, just Ria asking where I am," 

"Ria? Who's Ria?" He tilted his head.

"Best friend," He nodded. He pulled his phone out and placed it on the table.

"Oh, cool! You have the latest Iphone! Can I see?" I jumped up, looking at his phone. 

"Yeah sure," He pushed it forward so I could examine it. Whilst I was looking through his phone, a text came up. It was from a girl called Katie. 

'Hey babe! How's the new school? Can't wait to see ya! Love you ! xox' 

He had a girlfriend. My heart dropped. I came off the message and pushed it towards him. 

"You, er, have a message," I put my head down and waited for him to say something. 

"Lex," I threw my sandwich wrapper onto the floor and walked away. He led me on. I actually thought I liked him. Silly really. I barely knew him. How could I like someone that I hardly knew? Very easily I guess.
