·Narrator POV·
Tyler is sitting on hospital bed still. They said he had to stay for another week or so because he broke his ribs and one of his lungs ruptured and he had to go into emergency surgery. They said he's lucky to be alive right now.
It's been 6 days since they told him that. Today's his last day at the hospital.
He sits there in thought as he hears his door open. His curtain slowly opens as a lady steps to his side.
"TYLER! Thank god you're okay!"
Tyler asks in a low, angered voice,
"Where were you?"·Tyler's POV·
My mom stands next to me, silenced by my question.
They said I was lucky to be alive. They never said I had to feel lucky. And I don't. I thought she cared. I thought she would PROTECT me.
Did you miss me? I'm all you really ever had. And you told me to leave. This is what happens when you tell me to go.
He's back. Damnit.
That's right. And you're mom is too. The one who also knows you're worthless. Worthless and unworthy of fighting for. That's why she left that day and didn't come back. Because of you."I ASKED YOU A QUESTION. MOM."
In return, I got more silence.
"Get out."
"Tyler.."
"I SAID GET OUT."
"Tyler. I was scared. Okay?!"
"You weren't there. You didn't come back and you knew what would happen."
"I. Was. Scared. Tyler."
"YOU COULD HAVE COME BACK FOR ME!! And you DIDN'T! I almost DIED because of him. And you didn't give a shit that he was hurting me until I ended up here!"
"TYLER please liste-"
"And....you know what they told me?? They told me I was LUCKY to be alive right now. THAT'S WHAT THEY FUCKING TOLD ME."
I burst out laughing hysterically. As if anything in this moment was funny. I want her out. Now.
"And you know wha-hat?"
I say, letting out a small laugh at the end.
"What? Tyler. What?"
"They were wrong. THAT'S WHAT. I want you out. Now."
"Tyler."
"GET OUT!"
"NO. YOU'RE MY SON. AND YOU CAN'T COMMAND ME OFF BECAUSE IT'S ME IN CHARGE. NOT YOU."
"GET THE FUCK OUT. YOU'RE NOT MY MOM. NOT ANYMORE. GET THE HELL OUT OF MY ROOM BITCH!!!"
I start screaming while I rock back and forth with my head in my hands. I'm trying to block her out. Maybe then she'll leave.
She's doing my job for me. She's driving you crazy.
"What the hell did you just call me?!"
"GET. OUT. OF MY. ROOOM!!!!"
I have to get her out. I try to stand up, still connected to everything, and that's when he comes in.·Narrator's POV·
Josh hears screaming coming from Tyler's room. He decides to go in. Tyler's standing up. His mom standing in front of him with an angry expression.
"What's going on in here??"
"I want her out. Now."
"Tyler...you need to sit back down."
"Not until she's out."
Josh walks over to Tyler and sits him down.
"You need to leave."
"And you are?!"
"Tyler's Bisexual friend. Do you have a problem with that?!"
"I'm not le-"
"Yes you are."·Josh's POV·
I have to get her out. Tyler doesn't want her in here. And I can see that she's hurt him. I think it's his mom. Or at least that's what I heard earlier.
I just want her out. Because I can't see Tyler being hurt by her anymore. He's my friend. It makes me sick that his own mother would leave him....yes I heard most of the argument. Even though I acted like I didn't.
"Get out. Now."
She stands there in silence."You're leaving. Now."
I go open the door and walk back over to her.
"Out."
I point to the door.
She leaves.
"Thank you so much Josh."
Tyler pulls me to him and hugs me.
My heart jumps. I look down at his small figure. His brown hair, his rosey lips.
Josh stop. You can't. Not now.
"Lay down."
He tells me, in a sweet little voice.
I do just that.
He lays his head on my chest and slides his hand down my arm to my hand and holds it.
"Thank you best fren."
"Any time best fren. I'll be here."
I feel a wince of guilt fly through me.
She wouldn't be happy about me doing this.AN//
