Chapter Fourteen (Part 1)

The first Hogsmede trip was almost here and Snape and Melody decided to take advantage of the seclusion to finally have a moment together that didn't include kissing in a broom cupboard or making out on top of a desk.

When the sunlight licked at her eyelids, Melody flung the covers aside and sat upright in the bed, toes trailing upon the cobblestone floor as she tugged her clothing tighter. The white shirt she had wrapped around her underwear was in fact Snape's, not Oliver's like everyone else had (Wrongly) assumed.

She padded quietly over to the wardrobe, cringing as it creaked open and she glanced around to see no-one had been disturbed. Hermione grunted and turned over in her bed but other than that the room was still and silent. With a sigh of relief, Melody pulled out her readily prepared outfit and slipped it quickly on, clicking the door shut as she left the room.

Melody rolled the sleeves of her black jumper halfway up her arms, feet padding down the stairs as she felt her way through the dimly lit stairwell and into the main Common room.

Just as Melody reached the portrait she was grabbed roughly by the arm and hauled aside. Her eyes narrowed as she stood face to face with a triumphantly grinning Ginny.

"You're going to see him, aren't you?" She asked, grin broadening as Melody scowled.

"I don't know what you mean." She made to get past her but was once again blocked by her younger sister.

"How long do you honestly think this is going to work Mel? He just wants something to fuck, nothing else-"

"HE'S NOT LIKE THAT!" She yelled, hearing a couple of groans in the distance as her screams had woken some fellow students.

"Melody, Melody, Melody. So naive - Nearly all guys are like that, the sooner you understand that, the better."

"You're such a bitch Ginny. You don't know anything about us, I mean more to him than just... that." Ginny raised an eyebrow and Melody growled under her breath, a trait she had gotten from Snape.

"Right, of course you do." She sounded somewhat sceptical and Melody tilted her head to the side, waiting to hear what she said next. "So, he's told you he loves you then?"

"Yes..." She said slowly.

"When did he first say it?"

"I-Uh-I-I gotta go, see you later-"

"When Melody?" Ginny's relentless grip on her arm wasn't going to loosen anytime soon so Melody sighed resignedly and turned her face away from her sister. "It was before you slept with him, wasn't it?" Melody nodded, forehead creasing as she frowned. Ginny sighed and pulled her into a tight hug, burying her head in her hair. "I'm so sorry, I can't believe he would use you like that."

"He's not using me Ginny!" She snarled, ducking under her sister's outstreched arm and stumbling through the portrait, disturbing a snoring Fat Lady who opened an eyelid to stare at her before falling asleep again.

Snape woke abruptly when the door to his chambers was flung open and in stormed Melody, crying uncontrollably as she slammed the door behind her. He sat upright and greeted her warmly into his arms as she burrowed her head into his bare chest and sniffled slightly.

He frowned, leaning back onto the bed and pulling her beside him, arms wrapped tightly around her shaking body as he stroked her hair comfortingly. After a while her crying subsided and she glanced bleary eyed up at Snape, pressing her forehead against his and closing her eyes again.

"I'm sorry." She muttered and he smirked, caressing her tear stained cheek with his hand as she snuggled into him.

"What for?" He murmured and she held him tighter
