Chapter Twenty-One
Melody made to turn the dimly lit corner, wand slipping in her sweaty palm, when a chilling voice stopped her in her tracks. Ducking behind a nearby suit of armor she couldn't help but smirk when familliar black robes swept past, narrowly missing her hiding place.
Her eyes scanned the corridor - They were alone. Surely Harry wouldn't mind if she took a small break from her seemingly pointless patrolling? It's not like the deatheaters were going to come bursting through the windows any time soon.
She unbuttoned her blouse partially, shortenning her skirt and smoothing down her hair. Just as she was about to jump out and surprise him, a gnawing, grinding noise made her stop. Before her eyes the stone bricks making up the imposing blank wall opposite where Snape was calmly standing began to roll back, revealing a wrought iron door.
"I take it there were no mishaps?" He said emotionlessly, arms folded over his taught chest as he watched five people step through the door. Leading the band was a shaking Draco Malfoy, trembling fingers running through his platinum blond hair.
"No, Professor Snape." His voice had failed him, and all he could do was whisper in a hoarse voice as Bellatrix Lestrange rested a hand on his shoulder.
"You've done well, Nephew Draco. The Dark Lord shall be pleased, but even moreso when you go through with the plan." Fenrir Greyback let out a growl, sounding suspiciously like laughter as the two somewhat similar looking adults snorted.
"Lead the way, Snape-" The male cackled, stopping when Bellatrix held up a hand, eyes darting across the room.
"Stop." She hissed, gaze landing on Melody's hiding place. "Someone's watching us..." They turned to where she was looking in time to see a woman emerge, small, innocent smile on her lips.
"Sorry I'm late, I had to clear up. Me and Severus left his chambers in a bit of a state..." She smirked mischeviously. They could only just see her wide, azure blue eyes beneath tendrils of red hair and the black velvet hood that hung low over her face. The red lined, floor sweeping robe didn't quite cloak her tall black stilletos, fishnet tights and short black skirt.
"Ah, So you're the mistress of Snape's that everyone's been telling me about." Bellatrix smirked, circling around Melody who remained calm and gave Snape a knowing look.
"Been gossiping about what goes on in the bedroom, Severus?" She raised an eyebrow as Fenrir Greyback and the other male, twin deatheater eyed her hungrily.
"We don't have time to stand here talking!" Draco moaned and Bellatrix pushed him to the front of the group, ordering him to start walking.
"You better get going then Draco, don't want to keep the Dark Lord waiting." The two other deatheaters followed suit, leaving Fenrir to stalk past a still Melody, running a tongue across a set of yellow mottled fangs.
Snape walked slowly after them, giving Melody sideways glances as she fell into step beside him, expression unforgiving.
"What's going on Snape?" She hissed, grabbing his hand roughly as they continued to walk through the eerily silent corridor, watching the others dissapear up a flight of stairs ahead.
"Where did you get those clothes?" He asked, completely ignoring her question.
"I transfigured my own." Both his eyebrows rose rapidly on his forehead and she huffed angrily.
"Don't look so shocked." She muttered as he tenderly rubbed the back of her hand with his thumb. The distant sounds of battle cries floated to them on the draught coming through an open window as they saw flashes of light reflected along the panes. "Tell me what's happening." She tried again and he sighed.
