Chapter Eleven

"You're seeing someone behind Oliver's back, aren't you?" Ginny asked Melody as she was washing up after a Christmas Dinner consisting mostly of playing footsies under the table with Snape whilst holding Oliver's hand.

"I don't know what you mean." Melody replied, gazing into the foam filled sink as she washed up plates and cutlery without the use of magic. Ginny scowled and turned her older sister to look her directly in the eye, knowing that her glistening blue eyes couldn't lie to her.

"What will you do when Oliver finds out?" Melody shrugged off her grip angrily and continued her chores with a bit more aggression and vigour than before.

"He's not going to find out because there isn't anything to find out!" She growled into the soap suds and Ginny snorted disbelievingly.

"Oh come on Mel! Usually you and Oliver are all over eachother but whenever he tried to touch you today you moved away. Not only that, but you had that dewy eyed look you sometimes get-"

"What dewy eyed look? I do not get a dewy eyed look, thank you very much!" She huffed indignantly, slamming the plates onto the drying rack and wiping her hands on the billowing skirt of her tight, red dress.

"Oh my god, Mel, just admit it!" Ginny moaned and Melody's scowl deepened.

"I'm not admitting anything! You-" She prodded her finger into her chest. "Have no proof that I'm having an affair and I'm determined to keep it that way." She looked away as Ginny began to smirk.

"Jesus, You're such a whore Mel." She grinned and Melody pouted at her, trying not to join in and laugh.

"You're one to talk Ginny. Last time I heard you had three guys on the go-"

"Yeah, but they're not Oliver, are they?"

"And what is that supposed to mean?"

"Well... I can see you and Oliver being together for a long time. All the guys I've been with were just temporary."

"Who says we're going to be together for a long time?" Ginny raised an eyebrow.

"Oh, so you're planning to run off with your little lover then?" She smirked, causing Melody to blush considerably and slap her playfully on the arm.

"Shut up Ginny! I don't have a lover!" She squealed and Ginny laughed.

"Do to!"

"Do not!"

"You have a Lover!"

"You're such an idiot, Ginny!"

"Slut!"

"Moron!"

"Whore!"

"Ginevra! How could you call your sister a Whore! What has gotten into you?" Mrs Weasley scolded, having interrupted their bickering and was now glaring from Ginny to Melody who was trying not to laugh.

"She is Mum!"

"Am not!"

"Are!"

"I'm not a whore!"

"You're lover would say differently!" Mrs Weasley's dark stare snubbed her into submission and she shifted uncomfortably, looking at her feet. Molly turned her gaze to Melody who was staring open mouthed at Ginny, at a loss for words.

"Lover?" Melody ran away before she could be reprimanded any more.

When she reached the top of the secluded stairway she noticed that her bedroom door was slightly ajar. Cautiously, she slipped across the dark, moonlit landing and creaked open the door, peering into the inky blackness to see any sign of the intruder.

As soon as she took one step into the room the door was slammed shut and a pair of arms slipped soundlessly around her waist.

"I was beginning to think you'd never come." A rough voice growled in her ear as a series of delicate kisses were planted along her neckline.

"Are you going to punish me for it, Professor?" She breathed, lifting her arms so that her hands could run through his hair as he continued kissing her bare skin, pulling her against him so that she was snuggled into his chest and could hear the angry beating of his heart.

"I might just have to Miss Weasley..." He purred. She tilted her head so that his lips made contact with her own. They stood kissing for a while, her fingers grazing his scalp as he caressed her cheek with his thumb, before he pulled away.

"This punishment is inhumane, Professor." She pouted, wrinkling her nose because he dared stop their tender embrace. "You can't do things like this to me and get away with it."

"I think I can Miss Weasley." He smirked as her arms slipped around his neck and she pressed herself against him, smiling as his hair tickled her face and his hands slid beneath her dress.

"What are you doing in my room, anyway?" She asked after a lengthy make-out session that left them both breathless, sprawled on top of her bed. She was straddling his legs, holding his arms above his head whilst he looked up at her mischievous face, smirking slightly as she pinned him to the covers.

"I wanted to give you something." He replied simply, watching as her eyes narrowed suspiciously whilst her lips twitched into something resembling a smile.

"What?"

"If you get off me then I can show you-"

"No way am I getting off you. I only just got comfortable." She grinned, planting a fleeting kiss on his lips as he tried to glare at her. "It's not going to work sweetie, you don't frighten me." He raised an eyebrow and sneered at her.

"Oh really?" He whispered and in one swift movement had her pinned underneath him, wrists held tightly in his grip as he smirked at her.

"You know, this doesn't frighten me at all. It just turns me on." She muttered and he rolled his eyes, pulling himself away from her despite the desperate urges to ravish her there and then when she was helplessly trapped beneath him.

From his pocket he slipped out a small black, velvet box. The corners were chipped and scuffed, the seams bedraggled and torn slightly and the lining velvet threadbare in places. It clicked open softly and he placed it in the hand he was holding tightly in his own.

Melody furrowed her eyebrows and sat upright, peering scrutinously at the small chain held withing the encompassing permitier of the jewellery box. The thin, silver metal glinted enticingly in the soft candlelight as she held it up, peering at the small pendant hanging beneath it.

"It's beautiful." She breathed, fingering the delicate hanging before he took it from her grip and gestured for her to turn around. She shivered when his warm fingers grazed her skin as he clasped the necklace at the back of her neck and leant back to admire it.

"It belonged to my mother." He said gently as she watched the delicate swirl of silver spin and twist, small emeralds flickering and shining.

The chain hung discretely, just out of sight, beneath her clothes and the charm was small enough to not be noticed. She smiled softly at him as his eyes met hers and he smirked in return. Her smile became more manic as she leapt at him, gluing his lips to hers as she desperately kissed him, fingers fiddling with the buttons of his stark white shirt beneath his black robes.

When Professor Snape made his way back to his room in the dead of night, he had to make sure he didn't encounter anyone as the vivid red lipstick stains smeared across his face, neck and chest would be a sure give away that there was something unlawful going on.
