Newt POV
Variables. Calculations. Death. She talks about our lives as if it is a math equation. An equation she needs to find the answers to.
"Not meant to die?" Rachel asks, confusion evident on her face. I glance over at her only slightly. I know her. Where do I know her? I quickly shake the thought from my head.
"Correct. The extensive research we have done on the kill zone conclude that children your age cannot handle such trauma at once. Right now your fellow subjects in location ABI are emotionally numb. So much emotional damage is nearly impossible to process all at once but it will eventually. And when that happens it is almost guaranteed they will go insane. We can't afford such destruction in such a young civilisation."
"So you're from WICKED, great. But what is Location ABI?" Teresa questions.
"I was from WICKED but not anymore. Our most trusted employees have become infected with the flare and it was no longer a sane organisation. As for Location ABI it was our safety mat for if the trials didn't work out, which they quite obviously didn't. In order to make sure humanity does not go extinct we created a safe haven where the survivors of the trials and the other immunes are to stay and keep the human population alive. AB being your trial groups and I being the immune."
My body feels numb the calibre of this information will take a few days to absorb, I'm sure. Some where in the confusion and what I'm going to admit, fear a tiny spark of hope has been ignited. I could see my friends again.
Location ABI? I guess that's where my friends are.

Hey Guys! Yes, I know this one's a short one.
So what do you guys think? I know it's moving really slow but there is so much to explain I and when I read these kind of stories I usually think it's too rushed. I've already written most of the story and am just releasing the chapters slower.
