We sat around the fire Akira made and waited for the night to pass, we left Konoha about 7 hours ago and we still haven't encountered any enemy shinobi. I sighed as Hiroshi and Masaaki fell asleep leaving me and Akira awake. I looked up at her only to see her deep in thought, "Akira-sensei, what are you thinking about?" I asked and Akira snapped out of her trance,
"It doesn't make sense, enemy shinobi should have attacked by now but I haven't sensed any presences. What about you Miwako?" Akira asked and I was shocked to hear her ask for my opinion on a serious thing such as this,
"You're right it doesn't make sense and I should have sensed a presence by now seeing as I'm a sensory type but there is always a chance that Lord Third sent out a decoy team of Jonin lead by someone such as Anko or another well known Jonin making it seem as if they have the scroll," I replied and Akira nodded,
"A good thought but Lord Third needs Jonin in the village and for a mission that he sends elite genin on you would think that you wouldn't need decoy squads," Akira explained and I nodded before pulling out my katana, placing it on the ground in front of me,
"Maybe it's just luck," I said and sensei nodded before saying that she'd keep watch. I nodded and lay down on the ground tracing each dent along my katana, remembering how I got some of them and smiling when they brought back a memory of my past accomplishments. Soon after I immediately fell asleep leaving sensei watching out for enemy shinobi.
--=--
I snapped open my eyes just as the sun started to peak over one of the mountains in the distance, its rays leaving orange and pink streaks across the sky. I quickly spotted sensei sitting on a log, obviously tired from the nights watch so I walked over to her and sat down, surprising her, "Akira-sensei, you should get some sleep. Even if it's just a little bit, I'll keep watch till the others wake up," I said and sensei smiled before heading over to the rest of the team to get a couple of hours sleep.
I sheathed my katana before moving to a rock that would give me a better view of the surrounding area, making it easier to spot enemy shinobi. I would turn my head every time I heard a twig snap even if it was a long way away but you can never be too safe when you're on a mission. I waited for the sun to rise well above the trees and still, nothing happened which surprised me even more than the time when I managed to lose myself in the Senju compound. I sighed and headed back to the team who were only just getting ready to continue the mission.
I smiled as Masaaki started complaining about how uncomfortable the ground is to sleep on and Akira smacked him lightly on the back of the head, telling him that he has to get used to it. I quickly jogged up to them and we continued along the road towards Sunagakure, talking about different jutsu and what we specialise in.
We continued talking for another few hours when I felt a chakra presence that wasn't coming from us. I immediately pulled out my katana, startling the rest of the team before sensei felt the presence and pulled out a kunai, "Hiroshi, Masaaki the enemy has found us!" Akira whisper yelled and the two boys both panicked before they pulled out kunai. I quickly felt more presences appearing at an alarming rate, each presence seeming more and more powerful,
"Akira-sensei, there is 20 shinobi approaching, abilities and strength unknown," I said and sensei nodded before getting us to tighten our formation. I felt the presences approaching and I immediately went on high alert. Now was not the time for failure. I turned to the two boys in the squad and I could see them trembling but I stood still. I wasn't going to run and I wasn't going to hide. I was going to fight.
The 20 shinobi all burst out of the trees at the exact same time, each of them holding a weapon. I looked at them closely and noticed an identical hitai-ate on each of their foreheads. I recognised it as the Iwagakure symbol from one of the lessons in the academy that I actually paid attention to. I glanced at Akira waiting for her to give a signal but when she stood perfectly still with a scared look in her eye I knew it wasn't happening soon. I sighed and then let my senses take over before charging forward my katana reflecting the sun's rays off its blade, "MIWAKO!" I heard sensei yell as I broke away from the formation and charged towards the enemies but I ignored her and kept running.
I was about ten meters away from the first shinobi and I could see him smirking, thinking that I was easy to defeat but that is where he was wrong. I have trained my whole life and I will not be defeated by the likes of 20 shinobi. I swung my katana with inhumane speed at the man in front of me and he only just managed to block it with his dagger before sending a punch towards my face. I quickly slid under his arm to dodge the blow and stuck my arm out, piercing him in the stomach. His face quickly contorted to a look of pain before I took my katana out and kicked him away.
I looked around and noticed two female shinobi running towards me, determined looks on their faces. I waited for them to be an arms length away before swinging my body in a circular motion, whipping my katana around and slashing across both of their legs making it impossible for them to walk. I then delt a clean blow to each of their hearts killing them instantly. I looked towards my team and noticed them still standing in the same place but they all were looking at me, shocked looks painted across their faces.
I sighed and then realised that they would only get hurt if they stayed here. I quickly put my index and middle fingers together and placed them on the side of my right leg, the old shinobi code for 'run'. I looked towards sensei and she seemed to have understood it. She then looked towards the two boys in the squad with a guilty look in her eyes before grabbing their arms and running off. I then looked at the 17 shinobi left to fight and they all smirked before one of them spoke up,
"You think you can beat us, kid," He said in a gruff voice and I turned around to face him,
"Yes, I do. So shall we fight?" I asked and the shinobi smirked before five charged at me. I quickly analysed each of them and swung my katana at what I believe is the weakest one. I managed to land a strike to her neck, crushing her windpipe and killing her but what I didn't notice was a man directly behind me with a kunai. The minute I realised I turned around but was too late and he delt a blow to my right shoulder, shoving the dagger right through my arm so it made an exit point. I screamed and grabbed my shoulder, sheathing my katana in the process knowing that I wouldn't be able to use it any longer.
I glared at the man and I could see a smirk making its way to his features. I then charged at him, a kunai in my left hand and left a cut across his abdomen, but not a deep enough one to kill him. I growled and walked up to him stabbing him in the head, smiling when his body fell limp. Five down 15 to go. I quickly started forming seals, my shoulder continuously sending waves of pain through my arm, slowing me down, "Water Release: Raging Waves!" I shouted and shot a large jet of water from my mouth, surprising the Iwa-nin and not giving them enough time to block it with their mud walls.
I knocked out seven shinobi and quickly delt a finishing blow to each of them as my vision became blurrier and blurrier from blood loss. I then looked at the remaining eight and quickly made seals for a jutsu that should wipe them all out. I noticed them making seals for walls but this isn't a water justu it is a wind jutsu. I looked at each of the shinobi and smiled, "Wind Release: Great Consecutive Bursting Extreme Winds!" I shouted and each of the remaining eight shinobi flew off their feet and straight into the trees surrounding them, breaking a few in the process. I quickly stopped the jutsu and noticed that six of them had lots of cuts covering their bodies and deep ones in their necks, killing them but the other two were just knocked out.
I quickly pulled out a kunai and killed them both before admiring my work and then started walking down the path that the team took. Soon the world started to spin around me and my hand was dark red from my own blood. I also noticed a trail of the red liquid had started to form behind me but I kept moving forward. If only I hadn't been so careless this wouldn't have happened. The team wouldn't have made it super far seeing as they have only been gone for 20 minutes but they could have been attacked or they are waiting for me up ahead. Who knows.
I then growled and grabbed some bandages from my weapons pouch and wrapped it around my wound seeing as it would do a better job of stopping blood loss than a hand would. I then started to run ahead seeing as I would pass out soon and it would be better to find the team than pass out ages away from them. I soon felt their chakra presence but it was really far away. I sighed and trudged over to a bush and sat down behind it, hiding. I won't be able to get there in time was the last thought I had before everything went black.

I hope you enjoyed the first fight scene and seeing a little bit of Miwako's power. Don't worry though she is stronger than that but she is in the limitations of a 13-year-olds body so I decided to tone down her strength but she is still stronger than the average Chunin. So I hope you enjoyed this chapter and don't be afraid to comment! Bye!
