Now fully awake, or at least as awake as he could be at this time of morning, Josh looks down at the sleeping girl beside him. Her eylashes rest against the tops of her cheekbones, her chest rises and falls with every breath she takes. Her hair, which was still in somewhat of a bun, with strands hanging down, looked darker in the lighting. It looked more brown, rather than blonde.
He raises his hand to caress her cheek, smiling at her. Simple things about her made him happy; her expressions, her personality, her quirks. Josh couldn't find a single thing negative about her; he thought she was beautiful in any and every way, shape, and form. Of course, he couldn't let her know he thought that. To Josh, he thinks there's no way a girl like her could like a guy like him. Little does he know, Aspyn has certain feelings about him, too.
Awoken by the touch of Josh's hand on her cheek, Aspyn yawns, looking up at him.
"Good morning," Josh says, brushing stray hairs out of her face.
Aspyn smiles, reaching her hand up to ruffle his pink hair, which was soft and wavy. "Good morning to you too, Jish," she speaks.
Josh lays back down on Aspyn's bed, placing his head on one of her pillows. Aspyn moves toward him, snuggling up next to him. Her left arm is around his torso, now, and his left hand is rested on her hip, with her head laying on his chest.
"What do you want to do today?" Josh asks Aspyn, looking at her, playing with her hair with his free hand.
"I don't know. I'm not working today, so that's a plus," she says, rolling off of Josh. She sits up, looking at him.
"We can go out, maybe," Josh suggests, shrugging.
Aspyn stands up, walking towards the door.
"Don't leave me," Josh whines, pouting at Aspyn.
"I'm coming back, hush," Aspyn jokes, smiling at him. She turns on the light, causing Josh to squint his eyes and groan jokingly.
Returning to the bed, Aspyn lays next to Josh, facing him. He remains silent, taking in her features, while Aspyn plays with her fingers, picking at excess nail-polish that is left on her cuticles.
"I'm hungry," Aspyn says, looking at Josh. As if on cue, her stomach growls loudly, causing Josh to giggle.
"I can tell," he says, smiling at her.
"Do you want scrambled eggs? Maybe some sausage?" Aspyn asks, scratching her nose.
"Sounds great," Josh speaks again, pulling the covers up to his chin.
"Well, you know we can't make breakfast if you're laying in bed," Aspyn says, laughing.
Josh groans, not wanting to leave the warmth of Aspyn's bed. The two walk downstairs, greeting Tyler who is in living room, playing chords on his ukulele and singing lyrics quietly.
"Ty, do you want some breakfast?" Aspyn asks him, standing behind him.
"Um, sure," he replies, thanking his sister.
Aspyn and Josh walk into the kitchen, getting their ingredients from the fridge.
"Josh, the sausage is in the top shelf of the freezer, could you grab it?" Aspyn asks him, pointing to the freezer.
