I entered the store first, holding the door open escaping the Spring rain showers and savoring the instant warmth and smells inside the refuge. He followed with a look of dismay at the weather, briefly allowing a huge sigh escape before setting eyes on the coffee stand in the corner of the venue.
Books were everywhere the eye could see, instantly brightening our spirits. I gravitated to a section of biographies while he hovered over a spot displaying a few classics. I glanced at him sweetly and smiled as he became immersed in his fascination. In a moment or two, I found something intriguing to share and grabbed it, about to turn heel. He was there towering over me with a strange look. I tilted my head to the side with an inquisitive smile holding the prize up for him to see. His amber eyes softened only slightly, as he raised his hand with a prize as well, one in the exact same likeness.
I burst into a giggle holding a hand to my mouth, lightly and my eyes glistening with tears of joy. Then, he set the book down carefully without looking away, gathered me into his long torso, one hand with stretched fingers firmly set on my lower back. The other, now free, delicately holding part of my left cheek, mouth, and anchoring my chin, tilting it closely to his lips.
I heard his heartbeat, breath, and felt his warmth in what seemed an endless moment. Whispering softly only for me - I never, ever, want you to doubt how much I want to be inside you...in so many ways. His lips relayed the rest with gentle determination and desire. This is when I faintly heard, barely felt, the book slip from my fingers onto the carpet below our feet.
