Percy looked awful. He must be in so much pain. "No, I'm fine. Been through worse." He replied my thoughts. "Did I say that out loud?" I asked. "Yeah." He laughed again. "Stop laughing. Or I'll slap you." I demanded. He kept laughing. I got up from my position, and walked over, preparing to slap him. "Ouch!" He suddenly screamed. "What's wrong?" My anger instantly dropped to concern. "I'm- I'm fine. Just a shattered leg. That's all." I got the feeling he was trying to play the injuries off. "Well, I didn't finish what I wanted to do." I slapped him backhanded on the left cheek so hard that his head whipped around. Then, I slapped him again on the right. "Mission accomplished." I said briskly, and smirked at him. His face was red from the slaps. Carter and Annabeth had woken up. Carter was groaning while Annabeth yawned. They suddenly realized where they are. Annabeth started to hyperventilate. Her teeth were chattering. Percy pulled himself up and pain twisted his features. With difficulty, he wrapped an arm around Annabeth's shoulders. Carter surveyed himself. "I'm fine. Why am I fine?" He glanced at Percy, and took a step back. I didn't notice before, but as Annabeth calmed, I saw blood dripping off Percy's back and staining his shirt. Annabeth noticed this too. With a gasp, she let go of Percy. "What happened, Seaweed Brain?"
